Hello everybody, this was a request from @Imjusthereforship for Goldric smut. In the end, I wasn't comfortable with writing smut as said in the previous chapter so it's gonna end up being a fluff or angst instead. (Sorry requester) Anywho, I hope you guys enjoy the chapter. I thought about adding some Edric angst this time cause he's one of my favs. 😉 TW: Odalia, cursing

- No one's POV -
*tap* *tap* *tap* The sounds of boiling rains hit the window of the Blight estate. A young green-haired witch sat in his shared room, staring out into the storm. He stared and thought about his day. It hadn't been the best. It all started as he was eating breakfast that morning. He had listened to his mother's furious ramble about how her youngest daughter, his little sister, had been quote on quote "Falling Behind lately". To Edric, Amity was doing completely fine! She had straight A's, hardly ever missed school unless it was inevitable, and was incredibly strong with abomination magic! Edric couldn't wrap his head around the fact that his mother was still disappointed in Mittens. He looked over to see Batric nibbling on some random food when his mother caught sight of the small demon. "Edric, honey, why is that wild animal in my house?!" Edric tensed up at his mother's tone. "He's not a wild animal, Mom. He's like my pet." "We do not accept pets in this household, Edric. You know this. Or should know it by this point." Edric looked away, avoiding eye contact until his mother continued her annoying rambles. Eventually, he managed to slip out of the room, Batric sitting on his shoulder. The green-haired boy walked upstairs and put on his cloaking stone, making himself feel decent. He despised his mother for everything he had. She was toxic, manipulative, and abusive both mentally and sometimes physically. Edric could care less when his mother was mad at him for doing something stupid.

The day went by as usual. Edric went around with his twin sister and they had a few laughs, taunted people, and made sure to look cool. Except, halfway through the day, Viney hung out with them. Now don't get him wrong, Edric thought Viney was sick as hell and really nice but he felt she took away Emira from him. He didn't want to be possessive over his twin sister, but they had hardly ever split up since they were kids. She was one of the only actual friends he had. Well, aside from Batric (and Viney of course.) There was also the human, Luz. But she was two years younger than him and was dating his little sister, not really the best spot to ask to be friends. After walking for what felt like ages behind Viney and Emira, his twin turned to him. "Hey, Ed. I was just gonna walk around with Viney and maybe go to the fancy restaurant. You can head home if you want." Edric could tell his sister wanted him to leave. It was sort of like twin senses, know? As much as Edric wanted to say no, he of course said yes, knowing it would make his sister happy. Emira had been crushing over Viney for months now. Everyone could tell they were a good fit. If Edric was being honest, he was pretty sure Viney liked Emira as well. Anywho, Edric walked back towards his house. Only to be caught off guard by the conversation going on inside.

- Edric POV -
Today has been absolute shit so far. First, my mom is just being the bitch she always is, then Emira ditches me! As if this day could get any worse. I walk up to our front porch and open the door ever so slightly when I hear my mother and father talking about.. me..? I listen in, wanting to know what's going on. The first thing I hear is my mother's annoying voice. "-the twins. Especially Edric. You have to toughen them up! And if you won't do it, I will!" "Odalia, dear, I think you're being a bit rash. They are just children. Besides, what's wrong with Edric?" "He is a failure. He can't do a basic god damn spell. And worst of all, he's studying multiple tracks. Multiple tracks, Alador. And he is equally terrible at each. What will the emperor's coven say when he tries to join?!" "Odalia, we're not even sure if that's what the kids want-" "Alador, use your brain for once! They are children. They don't know what they want! However, I know what they need. I only have their best interests at heart!" I stand there, speechless. I mean, I know I'm not that best at magic but mom really thinks I'm a failure? Ouch, even coming from someone like her that still hurt. I step away from the door and run into the woods, feeling a few tears stream down my face. The wind is cold and soon enough my legs are so tired I have to sit down at a tree.
