I watched as Ruan Legret locked his car and walked inside. I hid behind a tree, keeping a close watch. I had to fulfil my half of the deal...Kill an innocent. I didn't understand why Darquesse wanted to do this. I slowly crept towards the fence towards his backyard. He was a mortal as far as I could tell and he didn't have any family and he didn't have a job. I'm surprised he had a house. I vaulted over his fence and landed silently in his backyard. I could see through his back door, watching T.V calmly as if he didn't know his life was going to end. Tears escaped my eyes. This is so incredibly wrong. I'm supposed to be the one saving people,Not killing them. Don't back out on me now! How about 2 weeks? Darquesse bargained. I am way to selfish to give up the opportunity. I had been having spasms and migraines that went on for days. It was unbearable. I was to scared to tell skulduggery. I didn't want him to think I was weak. I wiped away my tears, taking deep breaths as I slowly picked his back door lock...

*Skulduggery POV*
We slowly opened the door to see 4 pale and sweating faces. "You killed my mother" ghastly growled, eyes glued to my eye sockets. If looks could kill. "Ghastly I co-" "YOU KILLED MY MOTHER!" He screeched, as he bolted out of the room, tears running freely down his face. The rest of us stayed silent. "Anton, go find ghastly. We can deal with this shit later. We have to find Valkyrie" Saracen ordered angrily. Anton nodded, walking out of the room. "This doesn't mean your off the hook, Skulduggery", dexter snarled. I nodded, swiftly. "Let's go find our friend" Erskine said coldly. I could tell. This was going to be a long trip.
