The Call of Home

Chapter 23

Nya's pov:

Nya woke up with a gasp that morning. She couldn't bring herself to sleep until midnight and now her dreams were giving her a hard time in the morning too. Would she be able to rest a little? After a moment and some deep breaths, she calmed herself and laid back to bed. She turned to her phone and saw it was seven in the morning. They didn't have school and it was too early to go to the clearing.

With a groan she tried to fall back to sleep but her mind would flood her with a feeling of lost and fear she just couldn't bear with. She sighted and decided to better get up and start her day. The hallway between her room and Kai's was all silent so she decided to check if her brother was already up, which she doubted but there wasn't anything better to do. As silently as she could, Nya opened the door and found Kai still asleep.

She headed for the kitchen and started to prepare breakfast for her and Kai when he woke up. Few minutes later she was done eating, so decided to leave Kai's plate on the fridge and took a shower. Once done she put on fresh clothes and laid on her bed again. She took out her phone and began to check for any text or videos, but soon she got bored and left it aside. There had to be something to do, anything! But she couldn't think of any. She sat on her bed and looked around her room. It was a mess. Perhaps she could clean it a bit. At least until her brother woke and they headed to Lloyd's. Garmadon had been talking with his brother through the crystal to catch up on what was going on. He told them that today he was going to talk with Wu to try to find a way to get back to Ninjago, and they were all free to join them or go train. Nya wasn't so sure of what to do. After the last attack on the clearing, they knew it wasn't so safe, although it was better to train. But she couldn't help but be more than a bit curious to hear the discussion through the crystal.

Lloyd was lucky, his dad was their master. He could take the crystal and talk to Akita anytime. Which he had already done, Nya was by at the time to catch up too. She did remember more with that conversation. Akita was from another realm, the Never Realm to be exact. She had helped Lloyd there and now on their last battle. Although that continued to be the blurriest part of all. No one seemed to remember what had happened there or when they got here in fact. That was it! She could try to remember how they got here!

While she picked up some things, her mind was on the clouds. She used what she remembered from the battle and tried to connect it with the place where they were now. Nothing really happened. She couldn't fit it together, the most she got close was the feeling of a promise and someone. But who? Kai? No, she was with him all the time. It didn't make sense. Then who?

The more Nya tried to place the person or theorize what happened when they got here, the more she didn't pay attention to the world. When she came back with no answers, she decided to stop cleaning. Although almost all her room was in better shape. She decided to sit back on her bed and try to think in a way to help go back home. She took her notebook and a pen and headed for her bed, but the pen felt onto the floor and under her bed when it stumbled with her feet.

"Where are you going?" She asked while laying the notebook on her bed and going to research the floor. It wasn't difficult to find the pen, but what surprised Nya was what was behind it. Something large was under her bed, but she couldn't remember leaving anything that long there. She pulled the pen out and leave it aside while she stretched her arm deeper to take whatever was there.

It was something metallic by the feeling, but it was wrapped with some bandages. When she pulled it out, she was stunned to see what was hiding there.

It was a golden spear wrapped with something what looked like grey bandages in the middle of it. It had a dragon design at the end of it and a little blue detail at the front where three spikes rose. HOW HAD THAT ENDED UP THERE??

She couldn't resist but stare at it. It felt so familiar somehow, but how? When she touched the blue detail at the front, she felt a refreshing sensation flow all over her. Like a gust of wind. Or more precisely, water. That's when it all hit her. Everything flashed before her eyes. Ninjago, their adventures, her family, Master Wu, Pixal, even Jay! Now she could remember it. They all were fighting Nadakan and Harumi. A portal had brought them here! He had promised her he'll always found her. Seems he kept his promise after all...

"Nya!" a voice brough her back to the reality. Although something was shaking her.

When she blinked back to earth she saw Kai on his pajamas, his face revealed worry while his hands were on her shoulders.

"You're back!" He said before she was pulled into a hug. She only smiled and tapped Kai's shoulder to comfort him. He must had been more than worried.

"What happened?! I just found you with a spear and your eyes were white! Are you okay?" He asked while pulling them apart.

"Yeah, sorry for that. And to why I have this.... I just found it under my bed" She answered while giving him the spear. He took it and examinate it.

"How did this get here?"

"I don't know, it just appeared. But I think it's something good"

"What? What makes you think that?"

"Kai, I remember it. I remember it all! Or at least almost all about Ninjago, there are some things that are fuzzy" She said while taking the spear back.

Nya was sure she looked crazy, but she also knew that Kai would believe her. "Don't you feel it?"

"No, but if it made you remember. I think it's something good. Just don't kill anyone with that" he said while they both got up.

"I won't touch anyone, except for Nadakan!" She said with a grunt. Her teeth's hitted each other at that and her hands tightened the grip of the spear. She could remember what had happened with him now. He took all her friends, her brother, he tortured Jay. There was no way he was getting out of this one without a fight now. How did he even got back?! But then she realized, she couldn't recall what happened before they got here! She knew they were battling the hands of time, Nadakan and Harumi. But something was fuzzy there, it was something about Harumi. But what?

"Alright, what if you leave that for now? Just let me get ready and we can go to see Garmadon. Maybe now he'll find a way to make us all remember and get back home"

"Alright, alright. I'll wait" she said while she lowered the spear onto her bed.

"I think I know what we need to get back home"
