"(Y/n), wake up. We've let you sleep in. It is almost noon, Toruk Makto's children's training is soon." Tsireya whispered to you, gently waking you up.
You slowly raised yourself from the ground, feeling a bit disoriented as the light peered into your eyes. You usually woke up before your sun rose so being awake close into post meridian confused your body and made you feel restless. You nodded to your sister and wiped your nose as she help you stand, your body stretching out as you began to follow her out of the hut. You almost hissed when the brightness gleamed on your eyes, but this was interrupted by your sister tugging you by your wrist to the water.
Your heart began to beat quickly when you noticed Neteyam standing and talking with his family, Tuk splashing water at her younger siblings playfully. You nibble on your lip as your eyes stared at the tallest brother, Tsireya giggling lightly at you. This pulled you out of your eye candy fest and looked to your sister embarrassedly, her eyes looking at Neteyam before back to you.
"Do you like him?" She mouthed towards you.
You let out a soft sigh and shrugged, her gasping excitedly at this news.
"I think he's cute and kind.. A leader as well. I want to know him better before I let my heart get to my head.." you whisper to her, Tsireya nodding.
"I understand sister." She said, holding your hands for a moment before letting them drop back to your sides
The two of you then came closer, water sloshing against your hips as you and your sibling got closer to the group. The noise of the water caught the attention of the family, Neteyam's head moving first. His lips immediately wore a larger smile than before, his beautiful carnivore teeth brightly showing at you.
You mouth a soft 'hi' to him before he lifted his head in a 'sup' motion. Your brother soon came, the male smirking at the group as he did so. You let out a huff as Ao'nung passed you, his shoulder bumping past yours. Rotxo giggled when he saw this, you wanting to groan loudly at the fact his little friend was here. Your eyes went from Neteyam who was wearing furrowed brows at this interaction, then the ground. You didn't want this awkward moment to be weird for anyone else."So are the monkey's ready to swim?" Rotxo whispered, Tsireya slapping his arm. Ao'nung then turned his head towards the group to speak.
"Before we begin to swim, the only thing you should start with is by trying to breath with your stomach before going into the water. You can store more air there and won't be as buoyant.. Other than that, just keep up." He smirked, then turned and went further into the water.
"Come on." Tsireya spoke in her gentle voice, three of the siblings following her closely.
You and Neteyam strayed behind, the boy walking close enough next to you where your arms were touching.
"Does he always treat you that way?" The boy asked, you shaking your head.
"No.. He's probably trying to set some dominance thing." You scoff, Neteyam shaking his head at this. He wore a frustrated face as you two slowly went further into the water, the clear liquid beginning to come up to your elbows.
"What?" You asked, stopping for a moment to talk. Neteyam followed suit, rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably.
"He shouldn't treat you that way."
"Tell me about it.."
"Do you want me to do something about it now?" He questioned, you shaking your head.
