You let out a soft moan as Neteyam wiped off your bloodied nose, the boy making a worried look to your whines. Luckily his parents weren't here and instead they were out training and learning how to be useful to the village, otherwise you would have felt even more awkward. Tuk braiding your hair behind you gently with soft hums, Kiri and Lo'ak sitting beside you and Neteyam.

"He got you good didn't he.." Kiri stated, looking over your face.

"Shut up, Kiri." Lo'ak said exasperatedly, pushing at her shoulder lightly.

"You shut up.. I was just saying, either way she wouldn't have been bleeding—"

"Kiri-"

"It's okay, Lo'ak," you started, voice slightly nasally from Neteyam wiping your nose, "but.. he did get me pretty good didn't he." You stated, laughing slightly with Kiri.

"How did he hit you?" Tuk asked from behind, looking over your shoulder curiously.

"He elbowed me in the face."

"Ow.." she mumbled, continuing to run her fingers through your hair and continue her braiding. Neteyam lowered the towel with a breath, setting it beside him before looking over your face. He lifted his hand to your chin and turned your head with his fingers, seeing if any blood was left anywhere.

"I'm surprised you're not bruised.." Neteyam sighed, licking over his lips before dropping his hand from your chin.

"Did he mean to hit you?" Kiri asked, you shaking her head.

"No, I don't think so. He was about punch Lo'ak I think." You smirk, the teen lifting up his hand.

"Fish lips doesn't know how to punch, only a 5 fingered freak does." He scoffed with a laugh, Kiri rolling his eyes at him. You turn your eyes back to Neteyam who was still looking over your face, lips pressed tight together. You knew he was thinking about something even if he wouldn't admit it to his siblings. Kiri then looked between the both of you, her eyes then moving to her brother who nodded.

"Get a room.." Kiri huffed, standing while pulling Lo'ak up with her. She then picked up Tuk behind you, the little girl squealing with a giggle immediately.

"Come on Tuk." She laughed, the three of them leaving you and Neteyam in the hut.

You sat silently for a bit, pulling your crisscrossed legs up against your chest. Neteyam let out a breath through his nose, slipping his hands up against your calves and gripped them gently before moving them onto your knees. You placed your own hands gently against Neteyam's, fingers cradling the boys. Neteyam focused his eyes back onto yours.

"I don't like seeing you hurt." Neteyam spoke quietly, licking over his own scabbed lip. Ao'nung left a number on him, but he left worse on them.

"I'm alright, Neteyam. Rotxo didn't mean to hit me-"

"But he did hit you."

"He didn't mean to." You explained, eyebrows furrowing.

"Stop defending them (Y/n).. they don't deserve to be defended after treating you this way." Neteyam explained, voice sounding frustrated.

"I'm not defending them, Neteyam.."

"But you are. You can't even see that because you're blinded about your care for them, even if they say things about you and make you bleed." Neteyam raised himself up, taking a few steps away from you. You scoff at his, standing up after.
