The Sandy wind from the chopper that landed blew you back slightly, blocking your eyes with your hands as you focused on Neteyam trying to keep people away from the machine. All of this technology was incredibly unusual and new to you, one of the wordless rules on Pandora being to not create something from metal because it would hurt Eywa.
"Stay back, it's for your safety!" Neteyam ordered, you stepping back with your siblings.
"Stay back!" He said once more, the chopper eventually calming down. He then helped carry technology to his hut to help Kiri out of her passed out state, your concern growing for her by the day.
It had been two days since she had grown like this, not responding and being in a comatose state. Neteyam and his siblings had grown more nervous as well, not showing up as much for practice and instead were in the hut with their sister trying to nurse her to health in any way. You hoped that whatever technology the dream walker and the human had would help and serve fruitful to the Sully family.
"Come, (Y/n) and Ao'nung. We need to talk." Your father spoke, hands on the both of your shoulders as he led you back to your home.
Your stomach flipped in nervousness the closer you got closer to the hut, Ao'nung wearing a simular look. You weren't sure how he felt about this whole thing, but you hoped he was over you and only sees you as a sister so you can both persuade your father into not allowing you to become the Tsahìk.
"Sit down." Your father ordered, the both of you taking a knee as he sat down on the stone that sat in the hut.
"Ao'nung, it is your right to become the Olo'eyktan. We have talked over this and you have been aware since you were young.. (Y/n). I know you weren't aware, but you were originally set to be the Tsahìk of this tribe. Your parents agreed before their death that you becoming the future Tsahìk would be appropriate.. For three years I grew you two as siblings, but you are not blood. (Y/n), I see you as my daughter but I also see you as a responsible and spiritual young woman who would be a fine example as a Tsahìk.. Ronal agrees with this." He explained, your face staring at him wide eye as you thought over the words in your head.
What were you and Neteyam going to do? You wanted to know him more, be around him, and be a future mate to him.. Ao'nung is your brother, someone that you see as your family member. You had been like this for three years, which is a long time for you. This wasn't a small step, this was the rest of your life he was talking about.
"Ao'nung became aware of this a few days ago, and I'm aware he told you even though I told him not to." He began, eyes on Ao'nung who avoided his gaze, "But you needed to know.. Your mother and I would find it most appropriate for the two of you to mate and be official as the future Olo'eyktan and Tsahìk within the next 6 months, preferably before Ronal gives birth to our next child." Your adoptive father ended, your heart falling in your chest. You didn't know what to say.
Within the next 6 months, which could be tomorrow or could be within 6 months.. You didn't know what to do. Neteyam is who you saw as a romantic interest, not Ao'nung. You had got it accros blatantly to your brother how you see him and how he should see you, that being siblings. This is why your father didn't want to to see Neteyam and why his punishment against Lo'ak and the boy was so harsh compared to when the brothers beat up Ao'nung and it did not involve you. He had probably been planning this for a long time the more you thought about it.
"You may go." Your father said, you raising quickly from the ground with an angered look on your face before walking out of the hut.
You couldn't believe he would choose this for you. Why couldn't you just say no to him? Because he is supposed to be your parental guardian? None of this felt right. You were sure your parents agreed to something like this though, they always loved your adoptive parents and you were always close with Tsireya and Ao'nung.
