Marley went to talk to Jake the next day. Puck usually picked her up with Jake but she didn't want to spill in front of him or have Mercedes (her idol) think less of her.

She pulled Jake into the choir room before third period. "We have to talk."

He grimaced. "What'd I do now?"

"Hopefully nothing." She strove to be completely honest like Marcy (her other idol).

"Then what-? Hopefully?!"

"Do you have anything you need to tell me?" She waited, hoping she could take this.

He was dead confused. "No."

"Then no. You haven't done anything. But I've noticed you light up whenever Bree's around."

"Bree?" He blinked, fighting a blush.

She tried to remain logical when all she wanted to do was break down at his pink cheeks. "Yes. Bree."

He swallowed. "I don't know what to say."

"Just tell the truth."

"About what?"

"Do you want to be with Bree?"

He blanched. "No!"

His immediate response soothed her tortured pysche. "Are you sure? She's very pretty."

"I'm sure. I love you, Marley."

She threw herself on him. "I love you, too."

He smiled as he held her. It felt good to do so.

M&Q&M

Jake waited for Boys Night to bring this up. "I think I need help."

"With what?" Puck took a pull from his beer bottle.

"Marley thinks I like Bree."

"Who?"

"Bree. She's freshman cheer co-captain."

"Okay?"

Jake could tell his brother wasn't getting it and grew frustrated. "She thinks I like her."

"Marley?"

"Yes!"

"Don't you love her?"

"Oh fuck!" Marcy had been trying to ignore them but Puck's density was killing her.

"What's wrong, baby?" Mal asked.

"Your brother-in-law's an idiot!"

Sam's jaw dropped.

"Not you, moron! This one with the tore up hairdo!"

Puck ran a hand over his hair. "I just need a haircut."

"No shit!"

Mike was howling.

Puck blushed. "Why you gotta talk about me, Mini Mama?"

"This boy is trying to tell you he needs help and you're stuck like a pig in shit!" Marcy fussed.

All the boys fell out.

Puck burned. "What do you need help with, Jake?"

Jake snickered. "Marley. She thinks I like Bree."

"Why?"

"I don't know."

"Oh my fuck..." Marcy massaged her temples.

"Baby, not everybody as swift as you." Mal chided.
