I am packing a backpack full of things I will need when I am on my mission. There is a knock on my bedroom door, "come in." I call out, not even making an effort to turn around to see who comes in. "What are you doing?" My brother asks sounding confused, I suddenly have a flashback to when I was last packing to leave.

I still don't glance up, instead move to kneel so I can grab my gun and crossbow from under the bed. "I'm leaving again Dust." I explain quickly, my chest already tightening at having to say goodbye to him again "there is something I need to do. To make sure everyone is safe still." This confuses Dustin even more as he points out "the upside down is closed Lori, there isn't a portal anymore."

I sigh and stop packing, I turn around and look at the concern lacing my brothers face. I sit down on the edge of my bed and I pat a space beside me signalling for him to sit down. Once he does I suck in a deep breath "Dustin, this threat is very much in this world." I say slowly "and there is something I need to tell you about my time away." And so I tell him the whole story. Gory details included. No point leaving them out, after everything he's already seen.

"Wait." He says holding up a hand "you have superpowers?" I nod "like El?" I nod my head again. A smile spreads across Dustin's adorable face "that's so cool!" He exclaims and I laugh. "Yeah it is pretty cool." He let's our a breath before his eyes land on my weapons. "What exactly are you going to do?" He asks.

Smoothly I grab the two weapons and shove them into my bag "I am going to take down the Academy from within." I explain my very ambiguous plan "I will go back and pretend to work for them again. It'll be easy enough, they are desperate to have their greatest assassin back." This makes Dustin look impressed, it only makes me wince.

"How long will you be gone?" He asks softly as I finish packing. "I don't know." I admit "it could be a week or it could be a year. I will stay as long as it takes to make sure they never damage another child." Tears threaten to take ahold of me as I realise I might not see my brother for a long time. I clear my throat and turn back to face him. "What do you want for dinner?" I ask and a mischievous smile overtakes him.

So we end up having a dinner of pizza and chocolate cake. As I am washing our things up, mum already in bed, Dustin rushes over and hugs me from behind. Holding me close he says "I'm gonna miss you." My heart breaks slightly "but I know you are going to be off saving the world." My heart completely shatters. I stop what I'm doing and turn around and crouch down so I am his level.

"I'm not a super hero ok." I tell him seriously "I have done some terrible things. Killed innocent people." Dustin nods his head like he understands, but how could that possibly be the case when he is so young and innocent. "But, if you need me I'll always come for you. I promise." Dustin and I stare at each other for a good long moment before embracing again.

Once Dustin has gone to bed I do the hardest thing I will ever have to do. Which is leave him, again. Because this time I don't know if I am going to make it back. I quietly head back to my room and take the 6 letters from under my pillow and tuck them into my jacket pocket. Next I grab my rucksack before turning off my bedroom lights and slowly making my way over to Dustin's room.
