I shut my eyes tightly, trying to block out any noise as the sound of the portal growing smaller and smaller seemed to go on forever. I forced myself to keep them shut for every millisecond. Not allowing myself to open them and jump into the portal after her. I had to let her go.
The sound of the portal closing finally went quiet, leaving a high ringing in my ears. I couldn't open my eyes for what felt like minutes. I was just stood there, my eyes closed, listening to the silence surrounding me. I wished so hard that I would open my eyes and she would be standing in front of me smiling in her beautiful way. But when I let my eye lids peel open all that lay in front of me was a small piece of paper. Folded into an envelope.
I unfolded it and recognised Bella's swirling hand writing. I read every words out loud, the last words I would hear from her.
I am yours Peter.
"Now, and forever." A soft voice whispered through tears behind me. I turned around quicker then you could see.
There stood a girl, with long brown a hair and beautiful eyes that gleamed with tears through her smile. My beautiful Bella. I ran to her as she ran to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I lifted her and spun her in the air, pressing my lips to hers and never wanting to let her go. Never.
"I thought you-" I started as I placed her down, our foreheads resting against each others as we stared excitedly into each other's eyes.
"I couldn't do it. I know I said I wanted to but I couldn't." She rapidly interrupted me. "Peter, I love you too much to leave you." The blood in my cold heart rushed around my body, creating so much energy I was shaking.
"I know I hurt you but I promise it's over. I am so insanely in love with you Bella." She smiled and let out a small laugh through still pouring tears, that I couldn't depict as happiness or sadness at this point. "I know I fucked up-" she brought her hand to my cheek, sending me silent.
"Peter, I know I can trust you again." I smiled so wide it hurt my face. "I'm not going anywhere." I pulled her close and kissed her again, the adrenaline rushing through my veins. When I finally pulled away the silence pierced the hair, only being broken by the sound of birds chirping.
"Don't ever scare me like that again love." I laughed weakly. She laughed in return.
"I promise. I'm staying, nothing and no one can take me away."
"Forever?"
"Forever."
