The morning finally came, I could hear the noises of the boys outside my tent greeting each other, some of them even leaping around each other. I decided that it was finally time to get ready, I brushed my teeth with the water cup, emptying it out the side of my tent when I was done. Then I tamed my messy hair into something I thought would be both practical and kinda nice,I tied my laces, tightened the belt on my dress. Then emerged from my tent. There, I saw all the boys, picking at berries and random meat for breakfast. My stomach groaned with hunger, I looked over to where they were getting the food and headed over. A handful of berries would be enough for me.
"You're gonna train today, show us what you're made of." I heard a voice behind me. Pan. I turned around to meet his stare.
"Sounds easy," I said, rather cockily. "What's first then Pan?" He smirked at me, pulling a dagger out from his side and twirling it effortlessly in his fingers, before handing it to me. I took it with ease and smiled at him sourly.
"You know how to throw a dagger?" He said in prejudgment.
"Yes." No. He raised his eyebrows at me, slightly taken aback at my complete confidence.
"Then let's go." He strolled past me casually and I followed behind, tossing the dagger between my hands. This couldn't be too hard could it? I mean I was good at baseball, and a little archery too! How hard could it be? We reached a small area, with tree stumps carved into targets, chipped away by many years of practice throws and stabbing. Pan took out another dagger and held it in his hand. He leaned back, bending his elbow past his head and threw it forward. It spun in the air at a rapid speed, going round and round and finally landing straight in the middle of the target. His head turned to me, in a look of self approval, ok let's do this.
"My turn." I said heading to where he was standing. I held the dagger tightly and leaned back the same way he did.
"Wrong." He said giggling to himself a little. I scoffed at him and shook my head, trying to focus back on the target. "You'll miss like that." He said again.
"I'll be fine Pan." I told him. God he was so annoying. I focused hard on the target, and threw the knife towards it as hard as I could. The knife spun around and around, heading towards the target, hitting it just outside of the final circle. I sighed in annoyance, letting my head droop down.
"Told you Bella." He laughed. It was weird hearing my name out loud. I never heard it anymore, it was, kind of nice really. Snap out of it Bella, remember what an asshole he's being.
"Fine then, show me." I said, storming forward to rip the dagger from inside the wood. He hummed out a laugh and smiled as I walked back.
"Gladly." I prepared a throwing position, hoping it wouldn't need too much correction. I felt him get closer behind me, softly taking hold of my arm and moving it down and to the right. Why is my heart going so fast? When he was happy with my arm he placed his hands on my hips, adjusting them ever so slightly, so that I was more straightened up. Then his hands rested down on my shoulders."relax your shoulders more. There, now try." He said finally stepping back. God why are my cheeks so red? I leaned back a little and threw the dagger forward. It spun in the air again, travelling faster and further, then hitting the target almost perfectly, only a little to the side. I took a moment, staring at the dagger, before turning my head to look over my shoulder. Pan was leant against a tree by one of his shoulders, his arms crossed, simply watching.
