Yours, now and forever.

Chapter 6

I felt my back slip off the rock as I was pulled into the depths. It only just hit me how deep the lagoon really was. The mermaids had grasped my waist, arms,  legs, even my hair, causing it to unwrap from the pretty style I'd put it into and thrash infant of my eyes, blinding me slightly from my surroundings. Dragging me from every part they could. I kicked around and squirmed, desperately holding in any bit of breath I could. This can not be how I die! I could feel the burning inside my lungs as I reached up to the surface, my vision getting darker and darker the deeper I got. I could feel my body desperately trying to force air inside me.

I screamed, letting everything I had in me out into the water, seeing only bubbles float to the surface. My throat burned and I felt the water flooding into my lungs. My head went fuzzy and a shrieking ring echoed in my ears, I tried to stay awake, don't close your eyes Bella! Don't close your god damn eyes! It was no use, as my mind began to shut down everything went almost numb. Then with the last feeling I had left I felt all of the arms slip away from my body, as if they had been fought off, or scared away. My body floated, numb and unmoving once they had left, sinking further into the depths of the lagoon. Two arms replaced them around my waist, another persons body pressing up against my chest, I felt my head fall back as I was lifted to the surface again.

Sweet air hit my face as my saviour broke the surface and swam with me in their arms over to the shore of the lagoon. I felt them carry me out of the water, they looped my arms around them and their arms resting under my back and knees, and lay my nearly lifeless body onto a rock. The air bubbled into my lungs, I needed to wake up, something, any movement to tell my body I wasn't dead. Their hand softly cupped my cheek as the life was so determined to fade out of me. C'mon Bella, get the water out of you! I coughed finally, spluttering out water and jerking my body to sit up onto my elbows. The persons hand snatched away instantly. I gasped for air, wiping my head with the back of my hand, my skin felt so cold.

"I told you to be careful." A deep and angry voice came from in front of me. Oh shit, I'm in trouble. I looked up to Pan, sniffling and still panting, trying to catch my breath. He was scowling at me, with those angry, burning eyes. God why was he making me so nervous. He slowly twisted his shirt, letting the water fall out and onto the sand. I began doing the same with my dress and hair.

"I was-"

"No Bella! You weren't!" I jumped back and tucked my legs up to my chest in shock. Holy shit this guy is actually angry at me. I never expected him to snap and yell at me like that, it kinda scared me if I was honest. "You were stupid! And I had to go and save you so you didn't die!" I stood up and jumped onto the sand in front of him.

"Well then why did you, huh?" I shouted right back at him. I wasn't gonna let this kid talk to me like that! His frown grew more obvious by the second.

"What?" He spat.

"You and Felix want me gone so badly. Why didn't you just take the chance Pan? Let me drown!" I pushed him out of the way, picking up my shoes and sock and forcing my foot inside them angrily. Once I was done I headed away from Pan and into a random part of the forest. He scoffed behind me and followed.

"Just where do you think you're going?" He shouted, following me as I marched through the wood.

"Anywhere away from you!" I screamed at him. I was so angry at him! Part of me didn't even know why!

He chuckled to himself, "you know, you have a funny way of thanking people."

"And what should I be thanking you for?"

"How about saving your life Bella?" He boomed at me. I stopped in my tracks, I realised something that made my stomach turn over. I stormed back over to him. He stood strong and still in front of me, looking down with his piercing green eyes with all the rage and despise he had.
