Characters; Aaron Carter, Female Character - Darien

Darien hadn't known Aaron quite as long as she had known some of her other friends, but she did know that she could always count on him to be there whenever she needed him - and right now was a time when she really needed him.

Can I come over, A?

Through glassy eyes, she finished and sent her message to Aaron. Through the short time they had known each other, they had grown to be as close as best friends. Within seconds Darien relieved a response, short and sweet, he replied;

Of course you can, sweetheart.

Through her tears, Darien giggled. She brought a hand up and wiped away the tears that escaped her eyes with the back of her hand.

Sighing, she started her car and began the journey from her now ex-boyfriend's house to Aaron's. Not even the music playing through the stereo could distract her from her racing and ravaging mind - how long? How many other girls? Was there something wrong with her?

Of course, she would never get the answer to the first two questions, but she knew she was not the problem, there was nothing wrong with her. It took fifteen minutes to reach the apartment building Aaron had lived in, usually finding street parking was mayhem, but she was lucky enough to be pulling up at the same time another person was pulling from their spot along the front side of the building.

She walked to the entrance of the building, after all the times she had visited Aaron, she still forgot that she needed to be buzzed in. She wiped more tears as her finger jammed the button for Aaron's apartment and she spoke; "It's Darien, Aaron."

She hoped he couldn't tell from her voice that she had been crying. It was embarrassing enough that he would see her crying, she didn't want him to hear it as well. It was mere seconds before Aaron responded over the speaker and the door buzzed loudly indicating the door was unlocked and ready to open.

Being the gentleman he is, Aaron met Darien halfway to his apartment - she would have taken the elevator had it bit been for the large "OUT OF ORDER" sign that hung from the seemingly eternally shut doors.

"Hey, A." Darien smiled, she sniffles as he moved closer, concern covering his face as soon as he saw her reddened eyes and puffy cheeks.

"Darien..." he began, cupping her arm with his outstretched hand. He pulled her into his side as they continued the walk back to his apartment, his hand slid down from her shoulder to her elbow where it stayed positioned. "What happened, honey?"

Aaron asking was enough to throw her into a second meltdown with heaving breaths and alligator tears. Her hands flew to her eyes and covered them - she allowed Aaron to lead her while he whispered comforting affirmations in her ear; "It's okay, you're okay." and "We're almost there, baby."

Aaron unlocked his apartment door and pushed it open, all the while still holding Darien close and comforting her with his gentle voice.

Aaron and Darien had met through Darien's now ex-boyfriend Michael. He had charm and charisma that made Darien fall in love and spill her secrets, just to turn around and break her heart.

Being that it was a warmer night, Darien wore a sweatshirt, bike shorts and a pair of beat-up sneakers - the sneakers being kicked off through hazy vision and strewn off near the door.

Aaron didn't have the largest apartment, it was midsized with a perfect view of the California nightlife from his living room. Beautiful people with beautiful cars and beautiful clothes. The living room was connected to the kitchen, his bedroom and bathroom being down a short hallway.
