"I don't think I'm going to go." Nini picked up the newspaper that was sitting on the counter, The headline read, Latest Animal Attack In Mystic Falls. 

"Yes, you are. This is where you can actually meet people. Listen, I know we upset you yesterday, but please come. I want you to really meet Elena, plus, you haven't really seen the new Mystic Falls." Nini sighed and flipped the newspaper over so the headline wasn't visible and looked over at her brother. 

"Can I have this?" She motioned to the paper and Stefan looked confused. 

"Uh yeah, just let me read it really quick and- wait a second Damon's calling." Stefan answered his phone and Nini went upstairs to get changed. If Stefan wanted her to go, she would go. This time she wouldn't feed, she wasn't going to lose control and she definitely wouldn't kill anyone. 

"What do you mean Katherine killed someone?" Nini watched as Stefan went over and flipped over the paper, beginning to read the paper. "Have you talked to Liz?" Stefan's eyes continued to scan over the paper and he looked up at Nini. "Tell her we don't know who did it, I'll try and deal with this. Nini and I will be at the park in a bit, we're on our way." 

When he hung up the phone Nini looked at him expectantly. "Come on, I'll explain on the way." 

When the two were in the car and driving Stefan sighed. "A bartender was killed in an alleyway last night and this town covers every vampire attack up with an animal attack. Katherine must've been angry with us so out of spite she killed someone. Yes, I know it's brutal but that's the Katherine we all know." 

"This Liz woman, does she know about us?" Nini asked and Stefan shook his head. 

"The council knows about vampires, and Damon's on the council, but they don't know we are vampires. I'll introduce you to Liz so she knows who you are, shes the sheriff." The two pulled up to the new park and people were all around setting up decorations.

"Great, so what do I need to do?" 

"Just stay with me," Nini followed Stefan's eyes and saw Mason Lockwood unloading boxes from a vehicle. 

As the two made their way towards the werewolf Stefan pointed out the mayor who was giving a small speech. "This is all part of the historical society, continuing efforts to give back to the community. Thanks to the generous donation of the Fell family. We are now standing on the sight of our newest public park. Thank you to everyone who has shown up today to lend a helping hand. Thanks." 

Mason stopped unloading his truck when the Salvatore's approached him, sending Nini a dirty look before turning to Stefan. "Stefan right? The third Salvatore." 

"The nice one. The one offering an apology." 

"Not interested." Mason spoke bitterly. 

"Look, my brother acted impulsively and dragged our sister into it. She's the sweet one, she wouldn't do something like without thinking she had reason. Damon pulled her in." Stefan reasoned and Mason scoffed. 

"You think?" 

"If you and Damon keep at each other throats, somebody innocent is going to get hurt and I don't want that. And if you go after my sister you will get hurt. You have family here so I can imagine you'd want that either. So what do you say we just quit the whole alpha male fighting thing and call a truce?" Stefan offered and Nini's eyes wandered to where a boy was bandaging his arm, probably cut it while moving something. The veins under her eyes darkened and she turned her head away. She was starving, she hadn't fed since the night before and due to her anger it didn't do much for her.
