Nini spent the next few days hanging out with Marcel and his "guys". Going around the city, letting them show her their hang out spots, just enjoying her time as she tried to keep home off her mind.

"Thierry tell him all be down in ten, I've got to get changed!" Nini laughed as she sped up the stairs to her hotel room, leaving Thierry at the bottom with a smile on his face. Caroline had been sending her texts, which she hadn't responded to, basically just filling her in the past couple days. She knew that Mikael was back, but Nini had been reassured that he wasn't after Rebekah therefore she wasn't worried.

Caroline didn't tell her much else bad, just that Damon had raked through her thoughts trying to figure out where Nini had went with no avail. Somehow though Caroline had mentioned to keep their conversation private, but Nini was still worried that Damon would find something out.

"Finally you pick up the phone! I was beginning to think something had happened!" Nini laughed and set her phone on the bed as she slipped on a dress that was loose and simple but still looked lovely on her.

"I'm sorry, I can't even give you a good explanation for why I haven't responded but if it makes you feel any better I haven't spoken to anyone else either." Caroline huffed on the other end of the line and Nini fastened a necklace around her neck.

"I know, Damon has been going on and on about it. He's hardly focused and even if he is as soon as whatever subject that is distracting him is over he goes right back to being grumpy and breaking things."

"He's left me voicemails but I haven't listened to them, I've just been straight deleting them. Listen, can we not talk about this? I-I don't want to worry, not now." Nini's hand grabbed the side of a dresser as her visibility flickered. She was happy for a moment and doing well with not beating herself up over it. Damon had wanted her gone, she shouldn't feel bad now that she finally left for a bit.

"Yeah, that's fine. I totally understand. So, what have you been up to?" Nini shot into an explanation about Marcel and his gang, all the things she had done with them, though she was careful not to make a single hint as to where she was. "That sounds like so much fun. I wish you would come home though, homecoming is tomorrow and you shouldn't miss it." Caroline pouted and Nini rolled her eyes, slipping some low heels onto her feet.

"I don't even go to your school, Care. You won't miss me."

"It doesn't matter I totally will and-" Nini turned as there was a knock on the door, hearing Thierry and Dakota messing with each other outside as Dakota tried to barge inside.

"I've got to go, Dakota and Thierry are outside and about to break my door down!" She yelled the last six words and the guys stopped, though she heard a thump which might've been Dakotas body. "Sorry Caroline, I'll be home soon, promise."

Caroline sighed but didn't argue. "Ok. Just, try to hurry. Stefan's alright, Damon let him out but he's going to help with Klaus. Listen, I know what Stefan showed you and that you think Damon doesn't care but he's really messed up, Nini. He's been getting drunk, like more drunk than usual, and breaking so many things except a few. Like the library, that big chair in the sitting room, your room, he's so careful with them. Even Stefan's. He's been sleeping in your room I think, I've found him in your bed a few times when I went to check on him."

"Like I said, I'll be home soon. Bye Caroline."

"Bye Nini." Nini hung up and sighed. He wouldn't touch the library, or that chair, or her room. It's because they were her things. Her special places, her favorite places.

"Seriously Nini, how long does it take to change?" Dakota groaned and Thierry laughed as Nini flung open the door, speeding them both back against the wall.
