"Well love, I haven't got much food around but I'm sure I could find something." Klaus hadn't really interacted with a child since he was one himself, much less having supplied one with food.

"Uhm, no, it's ok. I'm not hungry. Water would be nice though." Klaus nodded and left, coming back moments later with a glass and handing it to the girl. "Thank you."

"You've been here all night, do you need to call your parents?" Hazels face darkened a bit as she shook her head.

"My, Uhm, my parents. They died, a couple years ago."

"So who do you live with?" Her face seemed to go blank for a moment, like she was lost in her own memories.

"My Grandmother?" It came out as more of a question than an answer. "Wait, no, I- she passed too." She went quiet again, as if she was thinking hard. "I'm not sure to be honest. I don't know what's happening to me or why I can't remember."

Klaus crouched down, placing a hand on her shoulder, "It's alright love, don't panic. You're safe I won't let anything happen to you. My sister should wake up soon, her name is Rebekah." Hazel nodded lightly, wiping a stray tear.

"Thank you." Her voice was soft and Klaus only nodded, standing up again. "What should I do? Is something wrong with me?"

"No, I have a feeling you're just missing some details. Perhaps you hit your head or something, nothing to worry about love." Hazel only nodded again, turning her head as a blond women entered the room, freezing when her eyes landed on the girl.

"Nik why is there a child?" Rebekah's brow furrowed and Hazel pulled her knees to her chest. "If this is a sick revenge plot of yours then I will-"

"I found her in the woods." Klaus cut her off mid threat and Rebekah paused, instantly realizing that this had nothing to do with the supernatural mess that was going on.

"And you brought her here? What about her family?"

"She doesn't remember them. Or anything really."

"I know I'm in Mystic Falls," Hazel offered, "And I feel like I know where my house is. I know my name, how old I am, but that's about it."

Rebekah studied the girl, something familiar about her, but she couldn't put her finger on it. "Well what are we to do with you then, darling." Rebekah smiled a bit. "How about food?"

"She claims she isn't hungry." Klaus mentioned but Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"Of course she is. Nik, take her out and feed her. I've got business to attend to." Rebekah looked back and Hazel, "What's your name, lovely?"

"Hazel." Rebekah smiled.

"It's lovely to meet you. Do you remember any of the places to eat in town?"

"I remember something called The Grill?"

"Lovely. Nik, take her there. I'll see you both later." Rebekah waved a bit before walking out of sight, though the sound of a front door opening and shutting quickly followed after.

"Come on, love. I'll get you whatever you want." Hazel smiled, following after Klaus. It was weird, she didn't know what had happened, or who this guy was, yet she felt safer the closer she got to him. Like she knew he wouldn't hurt her or let anyone else do so either.

"I found her daylight ring in the middle of the woods but no burned up body or anything else." Hours later Damon sat by Alaric at the bar in The Grill, Stefan approaching to join them.
