"Quit acting like I'm a toddler who needs babysitting, I'll be fine. Just stay with Elena and keep an eye on Stefan." Nini rolled her eyes at her brother despite the fact that he couldn't see her due to the fact that he was on the opposite end of town.

"Ok but if you even see a Mikaelson-"

"I'd better call you. Yeah, I get it. But if I see Elijah you wont be hearing from me."

"Nini-" he began to growl and Nini grinned.

"Love you, Brother." She hung up and set down her phone to finish getting changed, a knock on the door catching her attention moments later. "One second!" She yelled down, expecting the mailman but instead she was met with a fancy envelope sitting atop a box.

Looking left and right but seeing nothing, she gently lifted the objects up, taking them inside and going to the couch before gently opening the envelop. It unfolded carefully, revealing an invitation inside.

"Please join the Mikaelson family this evening at seven o'clock for dancing, cocktails, and celebration." Nini read aloud to herself, smiling slightly before going to open the box.

As she pulled out the dress a grin spread across her face. It was absolutely gorgeous. It had a princess skirt, her favorite, and a subtle blue purple fade running through it, the top the perfect shade of blue to match the bottom and the faint starlike pattern gave it that perfect final touch.

She loved nothing more than ball gowns, but this was by far one of the most beautiful dresses she had ever seen. With great care she settled it back into its box, speeding it safely up to her room before taking her invitation and leaving the house.

"Elijah dear, come with me." Elijah looked up from his shoes to see his mother across the room, beckoning him to follow her. With a nod of his head he did, ignore the glances his siblings gave him as he left.

"Is everything alright, mother?" Esther nodded, a small smile on her face.

"Tell me son, have you invited some lovely lady to the ball yet?" A light smile spread across Elijah's face as he turned it towards the ground, a light laugh leaving his lips.

"Yes, actually. Now I just hope she will accept." Esther smiled, the kind of smile only a mother could do.

"I'm sure she will. Tell me about this girl."

"Her name is Adalyn Salvatore, but she prefers Nini."

"A Salvatore?" Esther hummed. She had been on the other side for a thousand years, she had no doubt heard the name before.

"She is not like her brothers, she is kind, gentle, she cares. She is remorseful, she cares for human life and others. And with that she is the most stunning being I have seen in my thousand years." Esther's smile hadn't faded and she turned to her son.

"If I wasn't mistaken I would say you love this Nini." Elijah nodded, not even bothering to deny it.

"I do."

"Even more than Tatia?" Elijah didn't even hesitate before nodding again.

"More than I ever loved Tatia." Esther went and place a hand on her sons face, looking at the man before her, who he had become.

"Then I hope to meet her, she sounds lovely."

"You will love her." Elijah assured her, taking her hand away as the sound of a vehicle reached his ears. "Infact, I believe that is her now. If you'll excuse me," Esther watched him go before her eyes drifted across the room to a drawer where vials of his and his siblings blood were hidden.
