"I'm sorry, I don't know how to get it out. I-" Elena helped Nini sit up as the girl vomited blood again, her body beginning to fade gray.

"I'm sorry he did this to you." Nini gasped out, becoming aware that the space around them was getting brighter.

"Damon's here, he's going to help." Elena began to stand but Nini grabbed her wrist, stopping her.

"Elena, I'm serious. He's gone crazy, I'm so sorry." Elena didn't get to respond before Damon was infront of her, holding Nini up with one arm and taking her hand in his own.

"Hey sissy, what happened?"

"There's still a splinter in her chest or something, I can't get it Damon and I think she's dying." Elena stressed and Damon nodded, squeezing her hand.

"This is going to hurt like a bitch. You ready?"

"I laugh in the face of death." Nini grunted and Damon laughed bitterly before releasing her hand to dig into her chest, right above her heart as she tried not to scream in pain.

"I've got it, it's almost out, just hold on." Nini was aware of Elena's pacing, trying to focus on that instead of the overwhelming pain.

Right when she thought she couldn't take it anymore Damon's hand left and relief coursed through her body. "There, it's out. It's done."

"That- that feels better. Thanks." Nini breathed, feeling her chest heal quickly. "He was going to kill me, Damon. Stefan, he was going to-" A choking sound escaped her throat and Damon helped her sit up, clutching his sister to his chest.

"He isn't going to touch you anymore, I'm going to snap him out of this but until then he isn't going near you. I swear Nini, I didn't think he would take it this far. He's gone out of his mind, but this is where I draw the line. Come on, let's go home." Damon rose from the ground, Nini in his arms as she leaned into his chest, tears rolling down her cheeks.

She knew how it felt to have her humanity off, all of the siblings had done it, but even then she hadn't been able to watch Damon die or let him, yet here was Stefan, willing to kill her himself.

She tried to push the thought away but it was getting closer and closer to the surface. What if the others were right? What if Stefan really was gone?

Yet another Taylor swift song played softly through the house as Nini finished shelving a few more books. She was house arrest, not forced by Damon, but just a very highly suggested thing that she agreed to. She didn't want to go anywhere anyway. Not to see Caroline, not with Bonnie and Elena to find Bonnie's mom, not with Damon to do whatever he was up to, she just wanted to be at home organizing her library.

And around noon she had finished that so when her stomach growled she went down to find food. She hummed along to her music until it was suddenly cut off, causing her to turn.

"I can't say I enjoy your taste in music as much now as I did in the 90's, but I guess some things change with the times."

"How did you get into my house? Elena hasn't-" Nini stopped. Elena had died once, he didn't need to be invited in. "What do you want, Klaus?" Nini spoke plainly, eyeing the Original that stood in her living room.

"Easy, little Ghost. I've just come to check up on you. Last I heard your life was being threatened by your own brother." Nini scowled, leaving the kitchen to approach him.

"Well, I'm fine. So you can leave."

"Not quite yet, love. I may not know you as well as my brother but I can spot a few things." Nini clenched her fists, her eyes drifting away from him.
