Chapter 21

"So, we're meeting at 5 today, right?" Mila asked as we walked to our first class on Monday. We were planning to gather to create a choreography for our special part in the New Year's event.

"Yeap, this way I have time to rehearse with Noah first." I answered her and opened my bag to check if I had forgotten anything.

"Talking about him, how are you two doing?" My friend asked and I shrugged. After Saturday's party we haven't talked yet but I had this feeling that things were going to be better from now on. Still, I couldn't say that for sure.

"You'll be surprised to see how your idol dances." I just said that so she wouldn't ask anything else.

"My idol? Peter Johnson will never be my idol, not after you told me what he did to you." Mila said and crossed her arms against her chest like a stubborn 5-year-old little girl.

"We were sixteen, Mila.. I've moved on!" I told her and, for the first time, I could almost say I meant it completely.

"If you say so. I'll keep my eyes on him just to make sure, then." This time I chuckled seeing how much she cared.

"Good morning!" Brianna appeared out of nowhere jumping and smiling.

"I'm guessing she had a good night of sleep." I told Mila pretending to ignore Brianna.

"I wouldn't say anything about sleeping." Mila answered and we all laughed.

"You say that because you don't date Avery. That guy is insatiable!" Brianna said almost whispering, grinning from ear to ear. I grimaced thinking about my two friends and Mila shook her head in a fake disappointment.

"We should go to class." I said not willing to hear my friend chattering about her new love life. Then the three of us went in separated ways to prepare for the first class.

At lunch time I stopped by Mr. Nigel's office. He sent me a message Saturday and I wanted to check what he wanted to talk to me about.

"Anntonella, sit down, my dear." He said when he saw me coming.

"Good morning, Mr. Nigel." I greeted him and did as he asked sitting down in front of him.

"It will be better after you read this." My teacher said and handed me a paper. I had no idea what it was about but I was curious to figure it out.

                                                        Anntonella Bellaza,

It's with great pleasure that we invite you to join us in our Annual Appearance at The Opera House as an interim dancer. All the information you will need is inside the envelope.

Gerald Holmes, Director of Marshal's Academy.

Oh My God! I read the note once more and I wondered if I wasn't dreaming. The event the Company holds at The Opera House every year is one of the most reputable dance events in the country.

"I was hoping you would be screaming and jumping by now." Mr. Nigel said taking me out of my trance. I should be looking like I saw a ghost.

"I'm speechless." I told him, still not believing the opportunity they were giving me. I knew it was just an interim role and probably I wouldn't have the chance to perform but just being there and knowing that they trust me and think I'm able to represent them...
