Chapter 17
For a second I regreted my decision to try and put my friends together. I was sure they would fit perfectly and I knew they liked each other but still It wasn't on me to make something about it. Yet I did...
A few days ago Avery and I talked about his confuse relationship with Brianna. Nobody but me knew he liked her so I was the one to hear everything he wanted to say.
That day Brianna was talking to a guy named Jason. He was one of the best in our year and he always asked her out but she never said yes.
"She's too good for him." Avery said clenching his jaw.
"And she knows it. She's just being polite, calm down jealous." I teased him wanting to know how bad it was.
"I'm not jealous." He assured me but I knew well.
"Sure you're not." I said sarcastically. "But you should do something, you know?" I asked him.
"Like what?" He asked like he really hadn't no idea.
"Like ask her out?" I asked more as a statement. I thought the answer was pretty obvious.
"I did." He told me and I arched my brows in confusion. "She said 'sure, I'll call the girls and we'll meet somewhere'." Oh.
Obviously she thought it was just a 'hang out together date'.
"You need to explain, then." I told him trying to get a solution.
"I can't. She will laugh at me. Of course she doesn't like me.." Avery was getting frustrated by this point and nothing I said would make it better.
That moment I knew what I had to do.
"I have to go now. Meet me in Higuiru's friday at 8pm." I told him and waited for his answer hoping he would say yes.
"What are you planning?" He asked confused.
"If you don't go, you'll never know!" I answered him with a mysterious smile (at least I hope it was a mysterious smile).
"Okay... I'll be there." He said after a few moments deep in thoughts.
All I had to do was ask Brianna to go out with me at the same time so I could force them to have a proper date. I just hoped he would be there.
And he was there indeed. With a look of a five-year-old boy who just watched a horror movie for the first time. He was terrified.
"Do you want to at least say hi to him?" I asked Brianna when I saw she was still looking at him.
"No..." She said reluctantly. "Why did you bring me here?" Brianna asked confused.
"I thought you guys needed to talk." I told her and she finally looked at me.
"We talk everyday, Ann. You're not making any sense." She said getting mad.
"No you don't. You haven't talked to him directly for at least 2 weeks." I stated. She didn't expect me to observe that much.
"How... Why...?" She didn't know what to ask. Avery was looking at us more nervous than before. He tried to get up at least three times and gave up.
"I think that whatever you want to ask, you should ask him." I said pointing at Avery who just suceeded at getting up and was coming to us.
"Hi." He said almost whispering.
"I should go now..." It was my cue to leave. "Talk to you guys later." And with that I left the restaurant leaving two children in love staring at each other.
