"Tal?! What did he do this time?"

"I'm not sure what came over him," Hailey explained, "but it was similar to whatever happened during the duel. His eyes turned golden this time, though."

"Did he use a weapon or anything?"

"Not to hurt her, but he conjured up some sort of scythe to chop of her broomstick in the middle of the air. I get the feeling that if he had wanted to kill her he would have."

"I'm gonna have to talk with him sometime this weekend or next."

"Oh, and he said something else too."

"What?"

"He said that Kendall's next."

"You know, I might have that talk a bit earlier than planned. Could you hand me my bag Jay, if they brought it in here with me."

Indeed they had, and Jay handed me my leather satchel. "What's in it?"

"All of my things." I pulled out a bottle of blue liquid and drank it down."

"RASCAL." Hailey shouted, "WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING."

"Don't worry, I haven't tested it yet, so I don't know for sure if it's--"

"RASCAL." this time Jay shouted at me.

"I'm just kidding. It's Gatorade."

"I don't believe you. Prove it." Hailey demanded.

"Well how am I supposed to do that? You're the children of Poseidon, you tell me if it's Gatorade or not."

"How many times do Hailey and I have to constantly say it. WE DON'T DO ANY LIQUID BUT WATER. WHO DO YOU THINK POSEIDON IS, THE GOD OF LABORATORY PRODUCED SPORTS BEVERAGES."

I figured that this would probably be a good time to leave before things got any worse. But Jay was standing in front of my only exit. "You know, you're not very intimidating in basketball shorts, Jay."

"You don't want to see me when I'm intimidating. And you definitely don't want to see Hailey when she's intimidating."

"Well then," I tried to sneak the Gatorade back into my bag, "I really should be going now."

"Not so fast." We still don't know if that's magical or Gatorade.

"Give me an indication method and I'll show you."

"Sacrifice it to Poseidon. He likes Gatorade, but anything magical and you'll probably have some traumatic experience involving water in the next twenty-four hours." Hailey informed me.

"That's reassuring. The only problem with a sacrifice is that we don't have--"

"Fire?" Jay sat down and lit her leg on fire. "Problem solved."

"Don't we need a bronze brazier or something?" I asked.

"Our father won't care."

"So, I just pour this Gatorade onto your leg?"

"No, you pour it onto the fire and the sacrifice will be accepted before it hits my leg. I've done it before with other things."

"Here goes nothing." Right before I poured, I noticed that Jay's seated position left the top half of the door unguarded. While I had nothing to hide, I figured I could leave them wondering a little bit longer. Rather than pouring the liquid on the fire, I leaped over Jay, keeping the bottle steady in my hand, and knocked the door open with my feet. I couldn't hit the ground rolling because of the bottle, but I hit the ground running. After I had turned enough corners where Jay and Hailey wouldn't find me I laughed. The poor girls had no idea that I really was drinking Gatorade. But now, I needed to find Tal.
