Kendall - Back Home [Part II]

It's funny how time can become irrelevant sometimes. I had no clue how long I stayed on the floor in the Great Hall, but eventually Jay and Hailey had come and picked me up and put me back on my feet. I finally looked up since Rascal had... um. Everyone was gone and the hall was silent.

Hailey gasped, looking at my face. She then turned her head to Jay and whispered something. Luckily, Hailey is a horrible whisperer. "Her face is still red."

"It's probably going to bruise Hailey." I said so softly, I surprised myself. I'm never quiet, not to mention this quiet.

"Hailey, go get Tori. We need her to watch Kendall tonight since we can't go into the common room with her in this state." Hailey, who I had my support on, left without a word. Without Hailey's support, my legs felt like jello. They began to wobble and the ground began to come closer until two arms grabbed me.

"Gods, Kendall. I'm gonna kill that snake for this."

"Okay."

"I mean it. I'll slice his head off like Perseus did to Medusa."

"Which one?" I muttered.

"Both. Wait, my brother killed Medusa?"

"You're really going to drill her about your evil brother right now?" Tori had arrived.

"She brought him up."

"I'll bring up anything to get my mind off my stinging cheek." I said quietly again. I don't  think I'll be getting my voice or confidence back anytime soon.

Jay sucked in a sharp breath. "Kendall..."

"I don't need pity. I need sleep." That's it! This all a dream. I couldn't lose the man I loved now. Not with this damn war brewing. Plus, I'm freaking tired.

"We'll come on then, Miss Brown. Time to go to bed." Tori said.

"Miss Brown?" Jay asked confused. "She's rehabilitating a broken heart, not some superstar you're the assistant to."

"Oh shut up. C'mon Kendall." Tori grabbed my shoulders and led me all the way to the Ravenclaw common room.

"Hey," Tori stated when we were in our dormitory, "I'm gonna start you a bath, okay?"

I just nodded. Once Tori had disappeared, I walked over to my bedside table. There wasn't a lot on there (demigods don't own a lot of personal belongings): a Minotaur horn from when Rascal and I first met the Doctor, the current muggle book I'm reading, Alice in Wonderland, a notebook, and a couple wizard pictures.

There was one of the whole tutoring group being weird and dancing around. Sage was doing this weird thing with sticking her leg up by her head and Marie Louise was putting bunny ears on her. Sage eventually sees them and swats her hand. Jay and Hailey have their backs together and are trying to look to look tough. Tori is on the side unsheathing her sword, actually looking tough. Tal was jumping up and down in the back like a lunatic and it wasn't because he couldn't be seen. He was really hyper that day because Marie Louise decided to give him skittles to see what would happen. I smiled at the remembrance of that day. I eventually had to use a body-bind jinx on him, but that didn't stop him from talking very loudly.

There was also one of Rascal and I. I was holding the camera smiling when Rascal kissed my cheek making my cheeks flush a slight pink and my grin to grow. A sudden anger coursed through me. Taking the photo and Minotaur horn, I threw the photo in the air then flung the horn like a knife until it plunged through the glass and photo. The photograph sailed through the air like a bullet until the end of the horn, that had fully plunged through the frame, had lodged itself into the bathroom door just as Tori opened it.
