Next time I talk with my father, I will remember to tell him that the GPS in my trident is malfunctioning.
I had tried to guide the teleportation of my trident to the demigod camp, but that hadn't gone so well. The next thing I knew I found myself standing on top of a fountain. Apparently, I could teleport to any water source, not just a large body of water.
All around me were teenagers who appeared to be eating. Well, they had been eating before I popped into their hall.
The hall was large, bigger than any I had ever seen. It didn't appear to have a roof, but there was no evidence of anything that had blown in, and the temperature was slightly cooler. At the head of the hall, there was a table, presumably where the adults were supposed to be, that bore a sign reading "In Meeting - Will Return." The students were divided between four tables and a good majority of them were pointing twigs or something at me.
Wait, those weren't twigs. They were wands. That meant...
"Percy? What are you doing at Hogwarts?" a familiar voice asked. It was my sister, Jay.
I prepared to respond, but was cut off by someone from the table nearest to me with a green banner hanging over it.
"Does it really matter?" A hook-nosed boy with eerily blond hair challenged. "He is an intruder, attack him!"
If I had maybe been closer to the red and gold table, where my sisters were, maybe I could have stood a chance of being defended. Maybe if I was nearer to the purple table, where I thought I saw Tori and Kendall, I could have dropped down onto the empty section of the table that no one was using. Maybe if I was just over by the blue table, the only one where nobody had drawn a single wand, I wouldn't have been attacked.
But, I was close to a table that had devilish looking teenagers, lots of wands pointed at me, and a banner with a snake hanging over their table. That was a recipe for disaster."
The blond boy tried to cast his spell first, "AVADA KE--" Then he was interrupted by Jay, from across the far side of the hall.
"IMPERIO." Her spell was quick, and reached the boy before he could cast his spell.
"You know," the boy spoke in an objective tone, as if he were a puppet, "maybe we could let this guy go, give him a shot."
While the boy seemed like the leader of the table, the others were not buying whatever mind control he was apparently under. He could not cast the spell himself, but the others at his table were starting to agree with his point of view.
"SECTUMSEMPRA!"
"CRUCIO!"
"PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!"
"STUPEFY!"
As if they had rehearsed it, multiple members of the green table began rapidly casting spells in my direction. I ducked, falling off of the fountain in the process, and most of the spells missed me.
But the wizards and witches were quick, and began to prepare their second wave of attack.
"Slytherin, calm down." A female voice behind me addressed the people at the green table. It sounded like an adult. "I'll take care of him. DORMIO" Suddenly, I felt very sleepy, and then I was out cold.
When I awoke, I was lying on a cold, stone floor. I felt a brace supporting my arm and I leaned against it. The room was pitch black except for one lone window that was at least fifty feet high. Great, I was in a dungeon.
I turned to my left and saw---
"GAAHH" I cried as I realized that my "brace" was actually a skeleton. "That, is totally not creepy," I reassured myself outloud.
