Chapter 25: A Sailor's Power

A/N: Hello readers, it's been awhile. Almost a year I think. Sorry for not updating until now. I was planning others fanfics that I want to publish soon. I got lazy and bored and didn't know how to proceed with the story like I literally didn't know what to do with this chapter until two weeks ago, even though I know how I'm going to end it. I wasn't planning on uploading this part just yet, I wanted to do it with chapters 26 and 27 together but the heck with it, I'm doing it now. It's been a long time! Those next two will be up in the next two weeks, hopefully. Sorry again for being a slacker and thanks for your patience with me, but now on with the story...

The blue sky begins to darken as the Sailors stood up against what seemed to be an endless amount of dark spirit soldiers, continuing to grow, at Maverick's disposal. Tuxedo Mask lies in a comatose state in Sailor Moon's arms and Sailor Sun stands by her side.

"It's futile, Sailor Moon. Now give me the Silver Crystal," Maverick demanded from her as he walked closer.

Sailor Moon gave his words no thought as her own thoughts were preoccupied with Tuxedo Mask and his condition.

The others who were knocked down stood back up and continued fighting. They weren't going to stop. They weren't going to give up. Not until they died from exhaustion. "Let's attack him head on, all at once," Venus commanded the others. "We could slow him down."

"Hopefully," said Mercury.

Uranus stepped forward with Neptune and Pluto on either side, "Let's go!" All seven planetary sailor soldiers jumped towards Maverick. However, with rapid speed, Lady Red launched her fiery red arrows from her bow, making the sailors fall back in order to dodge her attacks. She prepared three more to shoot as she stood in front of Maverick. Her eyes gazed upon her adversaries with grave resilience.

"Rei!" Venus said. She struggled internally with the position she was in. She didn't want to attack her friend. She didn't want to hurt her, but Rei was brainwashed and too far gone to talk any sense into her at the moment. She closed her eyes and exhaled. She then opened with a confident expression. "Venus Holy Crystal Restoration!" She directed her attack at Lady Red who easily dodged it. It purified some of the dark spirits, leaving a small gap in the army that was quickly refilled.

"Haha~ My dark spirits are eternal! Though, I can't say the same about you sailors' stamina." The girls were back to back as the army was closing in on them. They spread out taking on a few of the dark spirits at a time.

"This is endless," Jupiter cried. "As long as she's guarding him, he can keep producing those things!"

"Indeed. We need a distraction in order to get Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask out of the corner he's pinned them in," says Pluto.

"If it's a distraction we need, then maybe this will work... Listen up you guys," said Venus.

"It's truly a beautiful site--despair. Your face, the same as Rei-chan's just before I took her!" He should before the weeping Sailor Moon. Dark energy began to rise from the ground, circling around them with a dark crimson aura. He put his hand out in front of her. His palm began to emit a red color, consuming energy into it in order to use as a point-blank attack on the girl. "This is the end of the line for you, soon the rest of your friends will become a part of my collection, and then they'll be no one left to save this puny planet!" His pupils shrunk as he said this and produced a menacing grin.

With her Staff of Illuminescence, Sailor Sun blocked him with a shield of light. The darkness surrounding Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, she vanquished it. "Do not address my friend so casually." Her light stung him and Maverick retreated backward a good distance. Sailor Sun struck her staff firmly on the ground and stared down her adversary in an upright pose.
