Chapter 9: Battle Plan

A massive explosion followed by flying debris and a smoky wall of dust filled the air knocking Mercury off her feet. "Mercury!" Sailor Moon yelled out to her comrade.

Mercury was on the ground, but was able to pick herself up, "I am alright Sailor Moon..."

"Good," she turned and jumped up out of the way, just in time to evade the dark spirit that was trying to get her.

"Mars Raging Crystal Explosion!"

"Venus Holy Crystal Restoration!" They chanted and used their powers to take out one of the dark spirits.

"How many of these things are left?" Mars asked.

"There are about twenty," Jupiter said as she used her right hook to get some of them off her. Another came up from behind her to ambush her, but she read its movements beforehand and knew where it would be. She stretched her foot out behind her to get a strike right into the monster's core, but once she did, she was not able to release her foot from within the monster. "What...? W-What's happening, my foot's stuck! You guys help!" Jupiter struggled, tugging on her foot.

"Jupiter!" The other yelled, but they weren't able to get to her at that moment since they were each surrounded by their own groups of monsters.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!" Sailor Jupiter hollered as she was losing her strength, her power was being drained. "Power....weakening...." She couldn't hold on any longer.

"Jupiter!" Sailor Moon called to her friend as she grabbed her arm.

"We've got you," Mercury grabbed her other arm.

"Double Sailor Kick!" Mars and Venus simultaneously kicked with the monster off of Jupiter.

"Are you alright?" Venus asked Jupiter.

"Yeah," the sensation of her energy being drained was gone, she felt normal again," How strange...," she mumbled to herself.

"It's strange how none of them are here, not Quantum or Stellar!" Mercury said as she fended herself off from the spirits.

"Did we lure these things away from civilian territory?" Venus asked.

"Yeah, I can't believe it, but they can actually turn humans into them," Mars responded.

"Maybe that's why they aren't here. These things can do their jobs for them," Jupiter stated as she kicked one away from Venus.

"Come on, let's do this," Sailor Moon gathers the other scouts together.

"Venus Holy Crystal Restoration!"

"Jupiter Gleaming Crystal Surge!"

"Mars Raging Crystal Explosion!"

"Mercury Pure Crystal Splash!"

" Silver Moon Crystal Power!" they readied their spells and chanted in unison, sending their power at the monsters, destroying four and restoring the bodies to their original state. Afterward, Jupiter fell to her knees.

"Jupiter!" Her friends yelled with concern for her present state.

"I'm fine. I'm just feeling tired is all," she said trying to induce her friends.

"Jupiter, you have to get up, just one more time," Sailor Moon told her. Sailors Venus and Mercury wrapped Jupiter's arms around their necks and began to help back on her feet.

"W-What's going on?!" Sailor Mars exclaimed. They monstrous spirits were being to disappear one by one with their appropriate bodies.

"No," Sailor Moon ran towards one of them, but it disappeared before she could reach it. She looked around at the area that surrounded her, staring at her fellow scouts. All there was was the destruction that lay before them and the blue sky. The sailors stood in the desolate area with bruised and tired bodies as their hair flowed in the whistling wind.
