Chapter 29

Aiden was, for some reason, being very attentive to me. At the beginning of the school week, he was all over me—not that I’m complaining. It started the moment I stepped out of my car which was out of the shop now. He had been waiting for me by my locker. When I approached, he, out of the blue, he kissed me hungrily with his usual passion, sending my mind into a frenzy to the point where I couldn’t think straight. It didn’t stop there. All day long he seemed unable to leave me alone. I was rather enjoying all the attention I was getting from Aiden. He seemed to be by my side constantly and we were always touching if we weren’t already sucking face with each other.

I think his attitude had to do with him not having a girlfriend. That was the only reason my mind could come up with to explain his actions. Maybe he needed someone to shower affection on and he decided to choose me since we were still sleeping with each other. Again, I’m not complaining.

My friends, however, were annoyed with us. I actually felt happy. Usually, I would be more broody due to my worries, but having Aiden constantly around took some of the edge off. He was making me more cheerful instead of just hot all over. Well, he was doing the latter as well, but that was just a part of Aiden’s effect on me.

“I realized I haven’t asked you to the dance yet.” Aiden said when he approached me at the start of the day on Thursday. The dance was this weekend and I was still grounded. There was no way I was going. He grabbed my hand when he spoke and rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb. This was becoming one of his daily habits.

            “I’m not going, remember.”

            “Still grounded?”

“Yup.” I leaned into him, against his chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I sighed happily. His hot breath flitted over my ear and my stomach dipped with desire. It was that easy for Aiden to get me bothered. He kissed my jawline, sending goose bumps along the length of my arm. Then his lips met my mouth. He kissed me deeply, making it last.

“Whoa, guys, tone it down a bit.” I moved away from Aiden and turned to find Wes standing behind me with Kim under his arm. “You guys looked like you were about to start an R-rated movie for everyone to watch once again.”

“Someone needs to lock you two in a room and keep you there until you get tired of each other.” Kim said. “This has been going on all week.”

“That will never happen.” Aiden said, pulling me back towards him and wrapping his arms around my waist.

Wes raised an eyebrow, a smirk on his face.

Kim was smiling. “Well, I’m glad you two are so cozy and Callan is happy. After what happened with Mark at the mall last weekend, you definitely needed a pick me up.”

“What happened?” Aiden asked. He didn’t know and I didn’t want him to know. When I looked at him, I noticed his eyes had darkened angrily. His grip around my waist tightened slightly.

            “Nothing.” I said.

            “Tell me.”

There was no way I was telling him the details of what happened. “Don’t worry about it Aiden. It was my fault anyway. I never should’ve let him be my boyfriend.”

“He was really a jerk though. Callan was almost in tears.” Kim said.

Wes perked up at this. “Callan? Crying?”
