Chapter 1: I'm Not a Slut Anymore
“I am not a slut.”
“I am not a slut.”
“I am not a slut.”
“I am not a slut.”
“That’s it Callie, keep telling yourself that and it’ll eventually be true.”
“Was that sarcasm, Mary?”
“Don’t call me that.”
A pillow hit me in the face and I opened my eyes. Mary-Anne, who preferred to be called Anna, was glaring at me from atop my bed. I threw the pillow back at her. Then I closed my eyes and started chanting again.
I heard a sigh. “This is a complete waste of time.” Anna was saying.
“Why is she doing this again?” Hailey asked.
“It was something about fixing her reputation.” Kim said.
“What’s wrong with her reputation?” Hailey asked again.
“She is a slut.” Lynn said.
I opened my eyes again and glared at the four girls scattered across my room. “Guys you are not helping me at all.”
“What’s wrong with being a slut?” Hailey asked twisting her silky brown hair around her finger while she read some fashion magazine.
“Nothing’s wrong with being a slut? I’m a slut. You’re a slut. We’re all sluts in this room.” Lynn said. She was sitting in my desk chair texting someone. Knowing her, it was probably her latest conquest.
“I don’t like that term.” Kim said, frowning. As a proud goody-goody two shoes, Kim didn't like to refer to herself as a slut, but she slept around just like the rest of us so technically she was one. She just didn't like to put a label on it.
“Neither do I,” I said, agreeing with Kim.
“What would you call us then?” Lynn asked, pondering a synonym for the word slut that wasn't so harsh. I personally couldn't think of any.
“Call girls?” Kim suggested. It wasn't harsh, but we didn't get paid to do what we do so it wasn't accurate at all.
“We’re not call girls.” I stated.
“We’re not, but you are definitely someone’s call girl.” Hailey pointed out with a knowing look on her face.
“I am not his call girl.” I frowned, knowing exactly who she was talking about and not wanting to talk about him.
