-Chapter 2-
I stumbeled in the direction of the noises. I swear, sometimes people can be so INCONSIDERENT! There I was, sitting in the woods, minding my own business (well, I was reading some of the books I had "borrowed" from the school) when this random arrow came zipping across the meadow and into the trunk of a Great Oak tree. So now I was walking through the woods trying to find the source of the disturbence. I walked over a tree branch and saw Cassy and Brook walking my way. Brook was leading my blind BFF, Cassy, across the wet ferns. No idea why. Cassy was as capable at guiding herself through a forest as the next person. Unless the next person was me, then there wasn't much hope. I walked over to them and stood in my 'I think you owe me an explination' posture.
"Well?"
"Well what?" Cassy sassed me.
"I mean, well why were there random arrows zipping across the meadow, that I was doing nothing in?" I asked.
Cassy grimaced. "You? Doing nothing? Somehow I find that hard to believe....." Brook drew an invisible number one in the air.
"One point Cassy, Alex zero."
"Oh shut up Brook."
"No way. I'm the oldest."
"Ya, by ten months. That dosen't mean a thing." I snapped. Not sure why, but all of a sudden Brook was getting on my nerves really quick today. Usually that didn't happen untill late in the afternoon. Oh, well. Cassy put a hand on my chest and another on Brook's.
"Now ladies, just because I'm blind dosen't mean I can't hear you. Knock it off, before I knock you off."
I sighed and stepped away. Usually Brook and I got along just fine. You wouldn't be able to tell we were sisters.
"Whatever, I'm gone. I've got better things to do then hang around here with this dumb head."
I turned around and headed back in the direction of the meadow. I heard Brook mumble something and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh wait Alex, before you go through some kind of fit, Parker is coming over later. Not sure when, but he's coming over to the house later. He said something about meeting you in the woods. But I don't know." My heart throbbed. Parker was my best friend slash super secret crush. But he was interested in my sister, so it kinda hurt to be around him. But hey, it's fine with me to come in second. As long as he'll spend some time with me. Besids, as far as I knew, Brook had absolutly no intrest in him. So that was fine with me. I walked into the meadow to see Parker sitting in the grass reading one of my books. I walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. He turned around and smiled up at me.
"Hey, Ally. Good book." He closed the book and held it up. "Twilight, good choice."
I grabbed the book from his hand and smacked him with the other. "Hey, no touchy. This is mine. M-I-N-E!" I sat down beside him. "So who are you anyway? Team Jacob or team Edward? Personaly I'm with Bella. I'm Switzerland."
Parker sighed and leaned back on his elbows. "I don't know Bella. I think I'm with Jacob on this one."
I batted my eyes in mock horror. "Oh, me! Oh, my! Werewolves? Oh, you dangerous boy, you!" I laughed.
"What's wrong with werewolves?" as his eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"What's biting you Park? Usually you're, well, you." He blushed, so did I. This wasn't like me at all. Or him for that matter.
"Please, don't say that." He said. He sat up and leaned away from me.
"Don't say what? What's biting you? Dude, that's been my saying since I don't know, like, forever." Now it was my turn to be confused.
"Just trust me, alright? Would you mind dropping your catch phrase for a while?" He scuffed and leaned his head down towards mine. He was like, two feet taller than your average fifteen year old. My heart throbbed in my chest. I backed away from him.
"Shesh. All right." I blushed. My heart was beating so hard I was afraid he would hear it and catch a clue about my feelings for him. He blushed and looked away.
"You sound like I hurt your feelings. Did I?" He looked straight at me.
"Um, um, uh, no?" I stutterd. Ah! I hated it when he did that! He chuckled.
"Okay. Just checking." He smiled down at me.
