-Chapter 12-

I walked away from the remains of what once was a huge heard of deer. Now it was reduced to about ten bodies and three living deer. The night had started well, but ended terrible. I had torn my only shirt, a baby blue tank. Now I was going to have to go home and get a new set of clothes and maybe check on Brooky. Make sure that one werewolf didn't do anything to her. So help me I swear if he so much as touched her . . . .

Brook isn't your problem anymore. If anything she's a meal.

Crap. The Voice was back. "Butt out," I mumbeled. I started to run in the direction of the house, my mind a million miles away. How did I become a Vampire? What happed that made me and my sister mortal enimes? Just why in general? I came closer to the house and I slowed down. I sniffed the air. They were still at the house. The Nameless Boy on the couch, Parker in my parent's room, and Brooke on her bed. Wait, how did I know this?

Instincts, The Voice awnsered.

Gee thanks. *sarcasm*

I walked out of the forest and onto the grass of a freshly mown lawn. I looked up at the sun.

Wait, the sun.

I jumped back into the forest. Wasn't the sun supposed to make me all glitterly? Like in Twilight?

I reached my hand out into the sunlight and saw........... my hand. Absolutly nothing was diffrent. Sure I was whiter but no glitteries. Really?

Wow. What a bumber.

Oh, well. I cautisly stepped back on to the lawn and ran over to the side of the house. Now, how to get in. I couldn't just walk in the front door. That was to close to the Nameless Boy. I glanced at the side of the house. Maybe I could climb up the rain pipe....

I jumped and landed reacklessly on the pipe.

*CRASH!*

I grimaced and listened. No one heard me. I climbed up the pipe to my second story window. Oh, thank God! It was still open from two nights ago. I jumped at the window and into my room, landing with a soft thud on the blue shag carpet. I jumped up and held my nose. Did I really smell that bad? Or maybe....

I ran to my closet and grabbed the first thing I saw. My blue satin dress I had worn about a week ago. I buried my nose in the fabric and inhaled. No, I smelled like lilacs. The smell in my room smelled like wet dog and moldy wood. It hurt my nose like no other. I grabbed a shirt and a pair of sneakers and sprinted out my door.

Running into Parker.

He stared at me. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I came for some clothes. I ripped my shirt, um, eating last night." I lifted my arm to revel the impacts of an antler from one of my last kills.

Parker chuckled. "So you're not hungry at the moment?" He asked.

"No, not really." I chuckled. "Does that mean I can check on Brooky?" I asked, suddnely aware that her room was a few feet away.

A look of concern came across his face. "Ya, I guess."

I sprinted the few feet and into Brooks room. She was on her bed and she smelled. Bad.

"Ew!" I jumped back into Parker's chest and turned around. His arms fell around me and I felt like I should of blushed. But I didn't. No blood. I backed away and he let go of me.

"Sorry," I stuttered. Oh my Gaw! He had held me! Then, I quickly dimolleshed the thought. Scince when was I such a girly girl?

He blushed. "You're fine. I'm sorry I was in your way. Now, care to explain what is so 'ew'?" He asked sarcasticly, mocking my voice.

"Oh, um, Brook stinks." I explained, scrunching my face at the remembrace of her stinch.

"Ya, well, you don't smell to good yourself, Honey." Parker laughed and stepped against the wall. I sniffed my arm. I didn't smell bad. Like honey and lilacs. I was suddenly aware of Parker's smell. He smelled like Brook, and my room, but not as strong. I could put up with his smell.

"Oh, get over it, you big baby." I smiled.

Parker stepped closer to me. "Says the baby vampire." He laughed and messed up my hair. This was the Parker I knew. Fun, loveing, and just like a big brother. To bad not more.

I sighed. Being a Vampire sucked. No pun intended. I wondered if vampiers could cry. Guess I was about to find out. Tears streamed down my face and I turned away from Parker.

Hey what do you know? We can cry!

"Honey what's wrong? What did I say?" Parker wrapped me in a hug, makeing the tears come harder.

"Being a vampire sucks. I hate it. I can't see my sister, come into my own house with out sneaking around, it sucks." I admited. Not being allowed to see my sister. Actually, with the way she smelled, I didn't want to see her.

"I'm so sorry. I wish I could change this. What happened all those years ago......" he trailed off. I looked up at him. He looked as if he had said something he souldn't have.

"What? What happened?" I asked.

He sighed and squezzed me tighter. "Nothing. I'll tell you some other time." A look of remorse came across his face.

"No, tell me now." As much as I hated it, I stepped out of Parkers grip and looked at him.

He sighed. "You're so diffacult. Okay, fine. I'll tell you tonight. But I'll have to tell Brandon to-"

"Who's Brandon?" I interupped.

He laughed. "The Werewolf downstairs. Can I finish now?" He raised his eyebrows expectanly, waiting for my rely.

"Ya, I guess."

He laughed. "Okay. Anyway, I was saying I'll get Brandon to take your sister to go talk to our elder and you and me can go somewhere else." He smilled and the brillince of his plan.

"And in the mean time I'll go hunt so that if I get mad I don't kill you," I added.

He hugged me again.

"Yup," he whispered into my hair.
