My name is Mia Alexandra Fernandez and today is my first day of high school. I am thirteen and I'm kinda tall for my age, and have wavy dark brown hair that goes to my lower back. I used to have a lot of friends in middle school but we all went our own ways, well except 3 for my best friends Naxhielly, Amparo, and Lila. We are all going to the same high school. I finish putting on my last touches of make up and slip on my converse.
My mom starts the car and we make our way to my carpool's and family friend's house. His name is Victor, I used to carpool with him in elementary and middle school. We now go to the same high school, he a year older than me and happens to be Nax's cousin. Oh and did I mention I have a crush on him? Yeah it's complicated...
We stop in front of his house and wait for him to come outside. As he opens the door I start to get nervous. He says hi to my mom and I, and we make our way to school. Even thought it's only about ten minutes away, it seems like an eternity to me. We finally get to school and I say bye to my mom.
I go to an all girls Catholic school, Carondelet, that's across the street from an all guys Catholic school, De La Salle. Some classes are mixed and we can go over to the other campus before school, during break, lunch, and after school. I look around and I spot my friends, I walk as fast as I can towards them, I'm really close to them when someone touches me. I turn around and see Victor. He smiles and starts to talk to me. "Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for starting to pick me up again." All I can manage to say is, "No problem." He just smiles and heads to De La, and I make my way to my friends again.
Victor's pov:
As I get off Mia's truck I see her look around nervously. I know she's friends with my cousin and some other girls so she's probably looking for them. She seems to spot them and starts fast walking towards them. I really wanted to talk to her, truth is I have a major crush on her. When I finally reach her I tap on her shoulder. When she turns around I immediately smile. "Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for starting to pick me up again." She says that it is no problem and I smile and run to my friends smiling like a retard. When I reach my group of friends one of my best friends, Hector, said something I never expected him to say.
"Why were you talking to Mia?" I was kind of jealous because he knew her but I answered anyways. " We carpool and I like her." It sounded rude but I wanted to know how he knew her. So I asked him,"How do you know her?" He said that they used to do karate together and they were pretty good friends. I was still jealous and was about to respond but the bell rang.
-----sixth period------
Mia's pov:
I was entering the door for my sixth period, I was really nervous because I had that class with upperclassmen and guys. It was geometry, I was really good so I got bumped up a bit. I would know literally no one in that class. But I must have forgotten Victor and Hector are sophomores. Great, I have math with my crush and one of my good old friends. I tried to concentrate but it was really hard to.
------end of the day-------
Victor's pov:
Mia's mom takes me to school and my mom takes her, my friends, and I back home. I tried to concentrate in math but as soon as the bell rang that told everyone to get settled, I noticed Mia was in that class too. I decided to ask for her number and I could make math the perfect excuse. My mom pulled up and we all said bye to who we were talking to and made our way to my truck. Two of my friends sat in the back and my other friend sat in the passenger seat. That left Hector, Mia, and I in the middle row. Mia sat in between us both, Hector started to talk to her and once again I got a little jealous. Twenty minutes later it was only Mia, Hector , and I, and of course my mom. Now was my chance she was snapchatting my cousin. I nudged her, she immediately looked over. I couldn't help let a smile slip, " I was wondering if I could have your number, I suck at math."
Mia's pov:
Of course I would give him my number but my heart sinked when he said that he sucked at math. I mean I just hoped he asked for my number to actually talk. I gave him my number and watched him save it. I saw him pull up the messages app and saw him type and untype stuff. Right after I gave it to him I got a text. I looked down at my phone and smiled.
Victor:
hey;)
me:

Victor:

me:

Victor:

me:

Victor:
How's todayHoly crap, today I thought I'd have more time. And I mean , that seems like a fuckboy move. Luckily enough, I know he isn't. After I sent it I quietly laughed he looked at me confused,"What?" "We are sitting next to each other and texting instead of talking." " Your so old school, can I come over at three thirty?" I almost forgot what he was talking about and I nodded we were pulling up at my house. I said my byes and thanked Victor's mom for starting to pick me up again.
