Chapter 16

Fabian's pov:

I knocked on the my front door, figuring it would be easier to have someone open it for me, then to open it with all these things in my hand. My little sister opened the door. "Oh it's just you." and she slammed it shut. I groaned as I put everything down and opened the door myself. "Thanks for helping me with the door, Jazmine!" I yelled sarcastically. "Your welcome, Fabian!" She yelled back with just as much sarcasm.

I put everything on the kitchen counter and walked to Jazmine's room. I opened the door, looking at the new decorations. "You changed the room a lot ever since Steph moved in with her boyfriend." "Yeah, I guess." "Well, you know since you shut the door in my face, you have to help me put the groceries away." I told her with a smirk planted on my face. "I hate you sometimes Fabian." "I love you too Jazmine!" I said hugging her and lifting her off the ground a little.

We walked into the kitchen and started to put everything away. "Since when did mom add chocolates in a heart shaped box, a glass vase, a bunch of Valentine cards, and a big teddy bear to the grocery list?" "Those aren't groceries, those are for Mia. Valentine's Day is soon." "Oh yeah. Two days, right?" "Yup, can you help me get some flowers for Mia." "Fine."

"Why don't you just buy her roses instead of getting her these shitty ones from our garden?" "They aren't that bad. Plus she told me a while ago she liked the flowers we gave her for her birthday a couple years ago." "I remember you cut those for her because you were going to tell her you like her. But you backed out when we pulled up at her house and you just asked Steph to give her the flowers." We laughed and walked back into my house with white flowers in our hands.

As I was trying my best to make Mia's gifts look decent I got a call from Hector. "Hey, are you going to Talia's Valentine's Day party? Me and Amparo will be going." "Um, honestly I didn't even know there was a party. But sure, I'll take Mia." Not even knowing who the hell Talia was. "Okay." He said reluctantly before hanging up.

I opened Mia's front door with the spare key she gave me and walked in quietly. I pushed her bedroom door open and found her siting at her desk listening to music through her headphones. I could lightly hear the music from where I was standing.

She was wearing one of my hoodies and sweatpants with our middle school logo on them. I threw the big teddy bear at her. She jumped from her seat as soon as the bear touched her. She threw her headphones off. "What the actual fuck. I swear to God Fabian Gonzalez I'm going to murder you." "So I guess it would be a bad time to ask you to me my Valentine?"

Mia's pov:

I mentally smirked when he asked me to be his Valentine. I walked to where he was standing but grabbed my glass of water hoping he wouldn't notice what I was planning. "I'm so sorry Fabe. I'd love to be your Valentine." I gave him a hug, careful to not spill the water, he pulled away and put the things on my bed. I licked my lips and leaned in really slowly. As soon as he closed his eyes I spilled the glass of water on him. "Karma's a bitch, huh?" I smirked triumphantly.

He smirked as well, "Well I guess I'll have to take my shirt off, since SOMEONE spilled water all over it." As soon as he took it off he chased me all around my house. He finally caught me in front of my front door. "Your lucky we didn't run to much, or I'd be having an asthma attack right now." We laughed but stopped once my front door opened to reveal my mom and her boyfriend. Fabian ran to my room to get his shirt, I'm guessing, as my mom interrogated me.

"Alright Mia, I leave you alone for an hour. What the hell was going on?" "It's actually a funny story." I laughed awkwardly. "Mia! What was going on?" "Well I was listening to music in my room and then Fabian came into my room and threw a teddy bear at me. I got mad at him because he scared me really bad. So when he asked me to be his Valentine, after saying yes. I spilled water on him and he took his shirt off and he started chasing me." I said all in one breath. "Well it wasn't anything too bad so I'll let it slide, but I want you to realize how much I trust you Mia. Don't loose my trust over anything stupid.

When I got back to my room Fabian had a dry shirt on, probably from the bag he brought incase he spends the night. "Hey. Hector wanted to know you if you want to go to some Valentine's Day party on Saturday, Amparo is going too." "Yeah, I'll go."

I started to look at the things Fabian got me. Milk chocolate in a heart shaped box, flowers his sister gave me for my 12th birthday, and a cheesy Valentine's Day card. "So whose throwing the party on Saturday?" "Some girl named Talia." I nodded my head thinking about who "Talia" could be but no one came to mind. Fabian and I talked a bit before he left.

I put on my earrings and grabbed my stuff. "Mia, I've been waiting for like forever." I walked out of my bathroom. "You've been here for like five minutes." "Sorry but you know I get bored easily." "Lets just go." We walked out of my house and headed to the party. "I still can't believe you mom let you come to the party." Fabian said as he started the engine. "Well it's the first time I'm going to one, and my mom knows I'm not into parties so she trust me."

We walked through a bunch of people to get into the house. Fabian promised me he would drink because he knows how much I hate it when people drink, but he already had a beer in his hand. I honestly don't get how these people manage to get drinks if their underage. I walked some more into the house and finally found Amparo and Hector on the couch. By then Fabian had thrown the bottle away after taking a sip. Fabian and I sat down next to them,"So what grade is Talia in?" I asked. "She's in Fabian and I's grade."

We talked some more. All of a sudden Hector started cussing. We all looked at him in confusion. He pointed to a girl that was walking over to us. Talia is Natalia, Fabian's ex, why would Fabian bring me to his ex's party? I looked at Fabian and he looked just as shocked. Hector was the one that wanted to know if I wanted to come today. So if anything I should be mad at him. "Hi guys, are you enjoying my party?" She asked in a high pitched tone. "Actually I forgot that I have something to do today." I said standing up. "I'll go with you." Amparo said, noticing Fabian didn't get up. We both walked to the door.

We were almost outside the door. I looked back and saw Fabian leaning in to kiss Natalia. Well this was an amazing Valentine's Day. Amparo put an arm around me and started to tell me stuff. "He's not good enough anyways, you can do better." she kept on saying things but I tuned her out.

We were pulling up to my house when Hector called me. I sighed and turned my phone off. Amparo and I got out of the car. "You should go back, you can't just leave Hector there." "Hey, sisters before misters, right?" We walked into my house and went into my bedroom. I put in The Notebook and sat on my bed with Amparo. "God, seriously though. Out of everything else that could have happened today, this is what happened. She's better for him anyway." "Don't say that, you know it's not true. And I mean he did have a beer before." "Yeah but he didn't even finish the beer, he wasn't even tipsy. He had a choice and he chose to stay and kiss her."

After a couple moments of debating wether to let it slide or not I came up with my choice. "We're over." "If that's what you think is best than go ahead. But just remember that deep down both of you will probably still love each other. After all you were each other's first." She said smirking "It's true but I mean we're to young anyways." I said ignoring her last comment. "Okay, I'm just saying."

We called over the rest of the girls and had a sleepover to get my mind off of things. Either way, I still went to sleep thinking about him.
