(Sasha's new office^)
The afternoon rays were beginning to settle, foreshadowing the start of the day's last stretch. I could already feel my body preparing to shutdown, given how hard I'd been working myself all day. After assuming the position as Director of Media Relations, most of my time had been committed between completing extensive role trainings or accompanying my uncle to his corporate meetings.
I hadn't seen much of Kendall all week, which I supposed had it's own pros and cons. On one account, it was nice to not have to talk to him after sharing a very inappropriate moment in his office. On another note, some small part of me secretly longed for us to restore the pure adoration and love we once held for each other as childhood friends. Although his treatment towards me was typically distant and cold, I still hoped that he would eventually give us a chance.
Turning to stare at the mesmerizing city view provided by my office window, I was reminded of the suit jacket that still laid on the chair beside the casement. I had yet to return it because, up until now, I had been painfully overwhelmed by the onboarding process of my position.
Soon enough, a knock on my office door intruded on the brief moment of solitude I was having.
"Come in!" I lazily called out from my desk, feeling much too sluggish to attempt to stand and open the door myself.
"Well, hello to you too." Sebastian invited himself into my office and sat down on a swivel chair I still hadn't made the time to aesthetically fit into my interior layout.
"What's up? Can I help you with something?" I asked, not meaning to sound as irritated as I had likely come off.
"No, actually. I haven't seen you all week and thought you might want to know why you're the latest talk of the department." He bellowed, standing from his chair to pace back and forth while examining my newly decorated office.
I knew he was probably trying to withhold some not so polite choice of words for my office decor. But, I was a simple girl with simple tastes. Much different from his aggressive artistic approach.
"Oh really? What are people saying about me then?" I rested my hands on my desk, sitting up in my chair with piqued curiosity.
"Besides the obvious, which is how unbelievably se-I mean attractive you are. They're talking about you and Mr. Fine."
"Me and Kendall? Why, I don't understand...?" I trailed, waiting for him to elaborate.
"Well, you know. Him giving you his jacket the other day really screamed: Hi, my name's Sasha Milton and I'm fucking my boss. Not saying that it's true...unless it is?" He ceased his pacing to offer me an inquisitive stare. His expression gave me the impression that he had already drawn his own conclusions about whether I was indeed fucking my boss.
"No, Sebastian. I am not sleeping with Kendall, nor do I ever plan to. Also, he's not my boss." After seeming to believe my very forward affirmations of denial, Sebastian's tensed shoulders settled back down and his expression returned to one of ease.
"Good, because I don't like him. Personally, I think you could do much better than him."
"Awe, you're so sweet." I flashed him an innocent grin, which caused his face to turn a deep shade of red. Clearing his throat, he took a few steps towards the door.
"I-I have a meeting in five. See you later then." He mumbled before fleeing from my office. Had I said something wrong?
Apart from his strange mannerisms, something Sebastian said had caught my attention. I didn't want people assuming that Kendall and I were involved in some sort of forbidden office affair. It wouldn't be a good look for me, given that he was one of the most powerful men in the building.
