A familiar cauldron of butterflies presented at the base of my stomach. The gravitational pull I'd so helplessly fell victim to a countless number of times now felt as inescapable as a rising ocean tide amidst a tsunami.

Too late, I was already completely entrapped by his muggy force of attraction.
My vision skimmed across the dance floor, slowing every few seconds to recommit to pinning down those dangerous melancholy orbs.
My heart raced with palpitations strong enough to send me into cardiogenic shock. But, I remained determined in my efforts to meticulously trail over the numerously staffed tables until my gaze finally landed on him.
An involuntary breath escaped my lips as he and I interlocked eyes. Despite being meters apart, the tension between us felt unbearably thick and unnerving. So much so that I could almost sense the very essence of him breathing down my neck. Taste the familiarity of his cherry pine scent.
As he sat domineeringly at a stationed table with his long legs manspread in a widened base and body fully relaxed, I realized that this was the epitome of who he was to his core. He was an emotionless corpse gifted with a Greek like portion who could never fathom the thought of bearing his emotions raw to anyone.
Worst of all, he was a liar.
