When I eventually reached the group of unnamed guests casually dispersed along the beach front, Kendall was the first to offer me a novel welcome by inviting me into his arms. When I seamlessly fell into his lap, his hands instinctively locked just below my breasts. As I melted into his touch, I heard him take an almost inaudible inhale of my scent.

After resting his chin along my shoulder, I could feel him breathe me in further while dawning a tethered kiss along my collarbone. Bathed in his comfort, I slowly set my heels down along the smooth peach sand bordering us.

We sat in a warm silence that seemed to last for a couple of seconds, while we continued to enjoy each other's physical company. Gradually, I found myself become evermore enthralled by the dominant aura of the broodingly handsome man glued to my side.

"How was your flight?" He croaked in that deep and raspy voice I was all but used to.

My fingers impulsively gravitated towards his cheeks, grazing his freshly-trimmed beard with my acrylic nails. He closed his eyes, temporarily relishing in the comforting feel of my intentional touches.

"It was good. Thanks for letting me borrow your plane." I returned, staring intensely into his mesmerizing dark orbs.

He nodded his head but before he could verbally respond, a line of rallying whispers stole our attention. With my focus now turned towards the surrounding strangers, I hesitantly waited for one of their curiosity-plagued faces to speak up.

Their marveling expressions hadn't been the least bit surprising to me. I was almost positive that Kendall wasn't the type to so outwardly display his affection. PDA wasn't necessarily my thing either, but I found myself blissfully distracted whenever I was engrossed by his tempting presence.

"Well, well. Aren't you two cute, man." An Asian man, wearing forest green jersey shorts and a Yankees baseball cap, echoed over to Kendall and I. His curious stare never left the placement of Kendall's hands on my form.

As was the case for most of Kendall's friends, the man was nothing short of attractive. He had been seated a few inches away from us, nested beside an Asian woman who I assumed was his wife. The two of them bore discernibly friendly expressions, so I offered them a quick wave.

"I know. I don't think I've ever seen him act this smitten over a girl." Another man cosigned, while leaning against a shaded tent encamped further up the sand.

Upon taking in the man's appearance, I recognized that he seemed vaguely familiar, which caused my thoughts to filter back to Sean and Isabella's New Year's Eve party. If I remembered correctly, he was the one who had been chastised for recklessly diving into the pool and causing water to splash on everyone gathered near the fire pit.

Jasper, I believe his name was.

"Same here. Never thought I'd see the day that Kendall Fine actually settled down. I mean, you guys are dating, right?" A very beautiful French woman approached us in a netted beach dress, mirroring the sentiments of her friends. Though, unlike the others, her comment had come off sounding notably catty.

If I had to take a guess, the practically nude woman was most likely a supermodel. With legs that endlessly went on for miles, she must have been no shorter than 6'0 tall. Her envious height and perfect physique only added onto her flawless skin, which glowed enchantingly in the sun while she paraded herself around in a very elegant manner.

Despite her remarkable beauty, I couldn't help but detect the slightest bit of malice in her tone. Her expression—though congenial on the surface— seemed to reveal a sense of heightened distaste at the sight of Kendall and I cozied up together.
