Chapter 20: Reunited

Sorry if it's a shorter chapter than usual

Link's PoV

Memory

(Y/n): "genuine question. Why do you think I am what I am?"
She asks from a cell in one of the outposts for the Hyrule army

"Because you don't want to pay for things? You don't like to work?"

(Y/n): "of course you'd think that.. the point is, those rich assholes don't deserve all the praise they get, the poor people deserve better"

Soldier1: "so this is some kind of 'righteous mission' to help poor people?"
The neko behind bars just nods while a disinterested look crosses her face

(Y/n): "what about you blondie? Why the sword? Why do you fight for a kingdom that doesn't fight for you?"
She queries

(Y/n): "some of you knights may be decent. But not all of you are good guys looking out for the innocent"

Soldier2: "so a thief is lecturing an army about the kingdom's defence?"

(Y/n): "look at what I managed to do. I stole your precious spear and now all of a sudden I'm special enough to matter?"

"That's not true. Yes you took the spear, but that doesn't make you special, the king offered to pardon you if you helped us and yet you just antagonise us for doing our part to help people"

(Y/n): "pretty good job at that.. oh wait, crime rate is fairly high, poor people starve while the rich waste food and some mere soldiers have more power over a business than it's owner"

"So then if I ask the king to help out the towns people more you'd cooperate?"

(Y/n): "I'd consider it"

Memory end

I come too after yet another memory floods my mind. Perhaps this small ruin once stood as that prison (y/n) was kept in for a while? Maybe it was another garrison

"I miss him.."

Epona hears me and looks up from the grass for a moment then goes back to her meal

"Should I have waited to train them more before I left? I mean, the plan was to train him a bit while we travel.."

The lack of answer leaves me with my thoughts for a moment

Your PoV

Daniel: "are you two both sure you don't want to wait at Kakuriko for a bit?"

"We would have to back track if we did, probably better to just stick to the plan and get her home"

Daniel: "if you are sure.. just be careful ok"

"You too. If Link does happen to be there tell him to meet me at Rito Village"

Daniel: "gotcha, oh and when you get Violet home, give my regards to her family"

"Will do, give mine to Impa and Paya"

We share an embrace to say farewell before heading our separate ways.

Violet: "the castle looks quite scary from here.."

"Don't worry, I've got ya"

Violet: "what if we get attacked? Are you sure you will manage all by yourself?"

"Don't have a choice, but I think so. I mean I have a trident, dagger and staff not to mention my new arm braces match my cloak making me look awesome"

Violet: "yeah.. yeah! I'm sure you are right.."
She says to help calm her nerves

Another three days pass of the same routine

Wake up, make and eat breakfast, walk for a bit, practice archery, walk a bit more, maybe practice with fighting using a spear, getting more comfortable with defensive manoeuvres

Along the way I improve my bond with my steed even going as far as to give him a name, that being Angel

While riding on my shoulder, Violet yawns herself awake to see we are now at Tabantha stable talking to someone whom is talking about the fairy fountain

Npc: "I would just love to give an offering to the great fairy but I have no idea where the fountain is located. I believe it is in the mountains just near the bridge"

"Alright.. thank you"

Npc: "oh could you give this to her if you do find her"
He hands me 100 rupies

"Sure, will do"

"Hear that Violet? We are almost there. You ready to see your family agai.. hold on"

I turn and run to the stable master and ask about Link

"So he hasn't showed up?.. if he does let him know to wait for me here.. he should have a horse named Epona if that helps identify him"

I run back over to Violet after he confirms to me he will look out for Link

An hour later I am half way up the cliff side as a flying Violet rushes ahead to the closed fountain
Finally pulling myself up the ledge I lay down on my back panting while rubbing my biceps to ease the aching.

A giant hand extends from inside the bud of the over-sized flower as a voice calls from within

Great fairy: "young lady.. perhaps you wouldn't happen to have 500 rupies to spare?"

"Oh yeah, right here"

It doesn't take more than a moment for me to notice

"Hey! I'm a guy!"

Blue fairy: "it's Violet!"

Yellow fairy: "she's home!"
The three lights dance around cheering like young children

Great fairy: "thank you for returning our precious Violet. And for giving up your money so willingly, you see we great fairies require rupies to power our magic"

"It's nothing, wait... magic is real?"

Great fairy: "(giggles) yes, here, allow me to enhance your armour"

She places a finger over her lips before poking my forehead with the same index finger. Sparkles, along with a feeling in my stomach, indicates that something happened

Great fairy: "I enhanced the defence of your clothing since it seems you aren't very protected from the wild"

Violet: "(y/n)! Meet my brother, Simon, and my sister, Olive."

"Hi you two, how are you guys?"

Olive: "(green fairy) we are well thank you"

Simon: "(blue fairy) we wanted to give you a little something for bringing our sister back"

Another pink fairy can be seen with Violet as they dance together, I assume it must be her mother. This fairy turns to me and says;

Pink fairy: "I am Violet's twin, my name is Elma. You have done more than words can thank you for.. please accept this gift as a token of our gratitude"
She places a fairy tonic in my hand

Olive: "we already told her about the gift"

Elma: "we agreed to thank her together"

I let out a chuckle and smile at the siblings

"I better head back, make sure Angel is fed. I hope to see you all soon.. stay safe. Goodbye Violet, I'll see you sometime, ok"

Violet: "I'm going to miss you! Please visit any time you please. Goodbye!"
She rams into my chest giving me a hug.. well places her arms outstretched over my chest since she is too small to do a proper hug

Back at the stable I think back to everything that happened

"Robed cultists, ninjas and pig and lizard themed monsters.. this has been a long month.."

Link: "(y/.. (y/n).."
I turn to see a surprised face of a familiar friend
