It rained all night. Left over droplets stream down the window, puddling at the edge. Wind was howling through the neighborhood. That's must be what woke you. You woke up on the couch downstairs. Your legs intertwined with Ally's who was still asleep on the opposite end. Two wine glasses and an empty bottle occupied the coffee table in front of you.

It took only a few seconds until a headache took hold of you. A swift movement from the couch and suddenly you were holding a bottle of pain killers. Downing a couple with a cup of water.

A yawn and a pair of arms stretched up over the couch. "Good morning." You smile sleepily from the kitchen. Ally stood from the sofa making her way to you. It was part of her routine, she must kiss and hold you from behind while she whispers a raspy good morning. And she did just that.

"I don't remember much of last night?" You questioned the brunette wondering if she could have any sort of recollection. "Well, you were quite irritated. Angry with me..?" Ally raised an eyebrow hoping you'd recall. She started the coffee machine.

"You got a little drunk. Started talking a lot. Much of it I couldn't make out and you were pretty set on the idea that I had Billie killed." Ally poured herself and you a cup.

You stare at her in embarrassment. You can't remember if she'd ever seen you drunk, but it's probably for the best. "I'm sorry Ally- I don't actually think that you would...you know. That would be crazy. Right?" You took a small sip from your mug. Ally smiles pulling you in, kissing your forehead. "Yes it would."

She set her coffee down on the counter. "Now, I have to go pick up Oz from my parents and take him to him to his friends. We'll have the whole evening to ourselves." Ally pressed her hands on the small of your back before disappearing up the stairs.

Ally's parents house was about an hour one way. Meaning you had nearly all afternoon to yourself and you had a little plan in mind.

——

You reached over the table setting plates down at both of your spots across from each other. Ally always did the cooking out of enjoyment for herself. It didn't matter how many times you offered, she'd shoo you away telling you 'this is my kitchen baby, I got it.' Paired with a subtle wink.

Looking at the clock on the oven, indicated that the lady of the night would be home any minute. You rushed upstairs putting on something she wouldn't be able to keep still, until she could finally rip it off of you.  Fixing your hair, before the oven began beeping.

You pulled the dinner out of the oven setting it on the counter for a taste test. Cutting a slice off...It needs something. Opening up the spice cabinet in search of anything that will make it absolutely perfect. You knew of a certain seasoning you saw Ally sprinkle on almost everything. You were convinced that's what made it good.

    Garlic
       Onion
          Rosemary
             Thyme

You brushed your head over each bottle. They all felt familiar. Nothing you hadn't used before. You stumbled upon a bottle with a different lid on it. You were convinced this was her 'special ingredient'. Strange it was all the way in the back. You always see her put it in the front.  You pull it out, the label is nearly peeling off and it's not a spice at all...

——

Ally's car could be heard pulling up in the driveway. Car door slams and the front door opens. "Y/N? I'm home."  You hear her heels kick off and setting her purse on the bench in the foyer. It wasn't long until her foot taps patted into the kitchen. "Oh something looks good." She walks over to you with lust filled eyes. "Yeah? You think so?" Ally comes over kissing your neck tucking her nose in the nape of it. "Mhm"

"Sit down, dinner will be served." A raspy tone leaves your lips. Ally takes a seat at one end of the table. You at the other. "Wine?" You pour her a glass of her favorite. Conveniently yours too. "Of course. Thank you."  Dishing out each plate, setting one in front of her. The other to you. "Sorry if it's not as good as yours." You wink.

The entirety of the meal, Ally and you exchange glances. It is obvious she can't stop staring at the plunging neckline of your top, where a string of gold with a singular pendant lay right between your breasts.

You stood up slowly, pushing in your chair. Walking over to Ally's side of the table taking a sit on her lap. "Tonight is not about the dinner." You hooked your hand around the back of her neck. Your mouth brushed the underside of her jaw before ghosting over her lips. Ally let out a staggered breath.

"Cat got your tongue?" You ask lowly. Ally was usually quick with it. Got her this time. "Tell me Ally." You connect your lips to her neck two, three times. Her eyes close and a faint smirk appears on her mouth. Your hand rests on the other side of her face. You pull her towards you, putting your forehead on hers.

"Did you kill Billie?" Her smile is gone. The lust in her eyes from just moments before, warped into darkness. Her eyes changed and you witnessed it first hand. Ally pulls her head away from you slightly. "What makes you ask that" Her voice; deep and husky. The brunettes whole demeanor changed within seconds.

"Why do you have a bottle of arsenic in your cabinet?" Ally hates when you answer her questions with another question. She's a direct woman. "Y/N. Where is it?" You get off of Ally's lap. Clearing the table leaving her in utter confusion and frustration.

"You're hot when your angry." You say downing the rest of your wine glass slamming it on the table empty. "Don't worry. I didn't put it in anything here tonight. Im not like you." You pull the small bottle of poison out of your back pocket next to the glass. "Prove it." Ally crosses her arms leaning back in her chair.

You shrug your shoulders. Unscrewing the cap, and pouring it into your empty glass. "See? But if I remember correctly, it wouldn't matter. You see, it only takes a tiny amount. Nearly untraceable in a toxicology report. Isn't that right?" You peer closer to Ally. Pressing your hands on the surface of the table, slightly leaned over just enough to tease her.

"I did it to protect you." The older woman leans in closer to your face with a smile almost so small, it's invisible to the naked eye. "What made you think I needed protection?" You back up almost yelling. "She was hurting you Y/N! You couldn't see that, but I could!" Ally stood up from her chair. "She kept coming back to fuck with your head. To make you think she still cared!"

You roll your eyes. "That doesn't mean you had to go and murder her- for fucks sake Ally I would have been fine. I just needed some time." You run your hands through your hair. Tears blurred your vision. All you could see was her coming closer. You felt her reach for your arm. "Don't touch me-" Those words were like a knife in the chest. It was now that Ally was near a break down. Hot tears stream down her cheeks. The same ones you kissed just hours before. Now they wouldn't feel the same.

"I know I fucked up. I know what I did can't be backed up with reason. I understand if you feel threatened or think of me any different, but Y/N please. I love you and I would never even think of hurting you."

You don't look at her. Instead, you walk over to the kitchen. Getting a new glass and pouring more wine. Ally follows with the smallest glimmer of hope in her eyes. "Yeah. You're right, you did fuck up. Makes me want to hate you more than I hate myself." That's all you said.

Taking one last swig of the alcohol, you reached for your keys and purse. "Y/N, you know you don't drive well at night." Ally folds her arms. "Well I figured you probably didn't want me to stay here."
Ally rolls her eyes. "Please, this is your house too."

Ally was weary of touching you but after you leaned into her shoulder and broke down in tears, she figured it was alright.
She took you under her arm and upstairs to bed. Once settled in she wrapped an arm around your waist holding both of your fonts to each other. She kissed the top of your head before whispering "I still love you"

The next morning Ally woke up to an empty feeling in her chest. Emotionally and physically. You were gone. All that was left was a note on your pillow.

"I went to a hotel. I'm sorry. I'll call you when I'm ready.
