"Taylor look at this shirt, it's screaming your name." Logan said holding up another shirt for me to check out.
"Logan I don't need every shirt in the whole store." I said back, "although that is a nice shirt." The shirt he was holding up was a T-shirt that was royal blue .
"Oh, and this pair of pants would go really well with that shirt. Don't you think?" He said holding up a some green skinny jeans.
"Great outfit Logan, now let's pay for it and get out of here, we need to get ready for to night."
"Oh right tonight, sorry I forgot about tonight."
We paid for the outfit Logan picked out for me, and then walked out of the store. When, I got another text from the unknown number,
* Nice outfit Taylor, does your little friend have to do everything for you? I thought that you could do things for yourself?* I looked up from my phone and scanned the sidewalks for anyone suspicious. It was the late evening so their weren't lots of people around. Just across the street their was a person in a black coat holding a news paper, and was looking in our direction, the person was also wearing a black hat, and black sun glasses, making it more difficult to see were he was looking, but their was nothing else to look at in our direction, I couldn't see his face either because the hat was creating a shadow over his face.
Something looked familiar about him though.
"Taylor are you coming or what?" Logan was looking over at me, with Trigger right beside him. Trigger was looking around smelling the air.
"Yeah I'm coming." I started to walk to Logan.
"Grrrr...... Rof....rrrooff...." Trigger was growling and barking at the stranger reading his news paper. Trigger was pulling on his leash, trying to get to the stranger.
"Trigger stop, Trigger sit, be quiet." Logan was trying to get Trigger to be quiet and stop barking at the stranger.
The stranger looked up and saw Trigger, he seemed panicked got up and walked away fast. Trigger kept barking at the stranger until the he was out of sight. Trigger growled a little more, then went quiet.
"That's the second time he's done that within 24 hours." Logan says.
" True, we should probably eat something before tonight, we are running out of time."
" Hey, I heard of a restaurant called La niute it has 4 stars and is only a few blocks away." Logan said suggestively.
"Alright, then let's give it a go. This is probably the only time we're ever going to be in Paris, right." I responded.
He gave a quick grin, grabbing my hand and started to walk us to the restaurant. When we got their we tried Trigger up to a tree beside the entrance. When we walked in I was hit with the smell of soup, and fresh pastries. The walls were a dark red with a lighter red in the design of flowers, the celling was white, and the curtains were black.
We walked up to the lady at the front, and she lead us to our table, and gave us the menus. A few moments passed, then we gave our orders.
"Logan?" I asked.
"Yeah?" He responded.
"I didn't know you could speak French very well. Who taught you how?" We only went to an English school, they didn't have a French program in the area we lived in.
"Believe it or not, but your Grandfather taught me. Taylor?" He stopped for a moment to gather his thoughts. "Do you think your Grandfather knew that we would always be friends and look after each other, because he could have chosen anyone he wanted to, but instead he chose us. I can understand why he would chose you, but why me?" He had a good point. My Grandfather could have chosen anyone, but he chose us.
"Well I guess he knew that you would be able to help him, and he trusts you enough that you won't run out on me. I mean you did come back for me today." I said with a smile, happy that he wouldn't continue my Grandfathers adventure without me.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, I did come back." He said just as the food we ordered was presented in front of us.
Logan had ordered a soup that was full of different spices, but had no vegetables in it, and was thick, were as I had ordered a simple chicken Cesar salad.
"This soup tastes like the one your Grandmother made for us that one day." Logan said.
"Which day?" Their were lots of days that my Grandmother made soup for us.
"The fall that we went outside for a walk to the lake, but when we got their it started to rain, so we had had to run back to your Grandma's house." He said remembering when we got caught in the rain when we were 7. I could never forget that fall. It was the fall that my parent's and brother died.
"Yeah, I remember that day. My Grandma was babysitting me for the day because my brother was going to birthday party." I didn't want to remember more of that day. It was one of the worst days of my life.
Logan picked up on the fact I didn't want to remember and fell silent.
We finished eating and went to the public restrooms to get changed, it was becoming dark. We had to be careful of what we wore, we didn't want to look to suspicious. The restrooms where away from the rest of the buildings. and their was a bush line behind it.
I was wearing black pants and a dark blue hoody. I put my hair in a braid to keep it out of my face, I also had a backpack with all the tools I was going to need. I was waiting outside of the public restrooms for Logan.
"What is taking him so long?" I whisper getting inpatient. Trigger was on his leash, sitting down beside me.
* Snap*
I heard a stick snap in the bush behind the restrooms.
"Grrrrr..." Trigger stared to growl at the bush line. I looked down at him, he was now standing up, his fur on end, and had his teeth bared.
"Logan, this isn't funny, come on, don't play tricks on me." I said confidently into the bush line. But Logan didn't answer. "Logan?" I questioned. " Logan, come on, we have to go." Still nothing. I started to look around, I walked over to men's bathroom and knocked," Logan are you in their?"
"Uhhhh... Yeah I'll be out in a few..." He answered out of breath.
"Uhhhh... Logan are you okay in their? What's taking so long?" I said confused.
"Nothing just finishing up." He sounded like he was having a hard time.
"Okay." I said uncertain.
I thought, if Logan is in their then who is in the bush? I walked up to the bush and Trigger followed me, in a protective manner. The leaves rattled a little, then went silent again. Trigger was still growling, protecting me from what ever was in their, but me being the stupid me, I kept walking forward.
"TAYLOR, NO GET AWAY FROM THEIR!" Logan screamed from behind me. "RUN TAYLOR!" I turned around to see Logan running in my direction, being chased out of the bathrooms by another guy that was limping, but he was still fast. " RUN! DON'T JUST STAND THEIR RUN!"
