THE PARTY WAS LREADY IN FULL SWING. There were really an incredible number of people here, it was crazy how many fit into such a house.
Probably a few more people were here than at Tommy's party, because they were all excited about the band.
Rose, Billy and Steve had already mingled with the crowd. Billy had disappeared right there, to who knows where. Probably to some drinking game again.
Meanwhile, Rose and Steve were standing near the kitchen and had grabbed drinks.
"Told you the beer in here was free for everyone!" she half shouted to him, since the music was really loud in here, and took a sip herself.
However, she immediately grimaced a bit disgustedly.
face."Okay, I think I know why this is free..." It tasted like very cheap beer and also already a bit stale. Steve laughed.
"Shall we go into the garden? It's a better place to talk!" he called out to her. Rose shook her head slightly, she hadn't understood him.
"What?"
"The garden!" He gestured toward the patio door and simply took a step toward it. She followed him directly, too.
Outside the air was much more pleasant, it was still quite warm, but definitely cooler than in the crowded pad inside. Out here the stage was set up, for the band, and there was even a band name already written on the front of the drums: Corroded Coffin.
Rose had never heard of them before. She nodded over to their stage and looked at Steve.
"Do you know them?" He considered for a moment.
"Hmm, unsure if Henderson didn't tell me about them once. Could be, wasn't really listening. So basically, no, I don't know the band. Curious to see what they have to deliver."
Exactly at the moment he said that, people came up to the stage and seemed to be getting ready. Conspicuous among them was a rather tall boy. He had wavy, dark and loose long hair, wore a simple black shirt, dark pants with holes at the knees and white sneakers. He had several rings on his fingers.
There were three other people on stage with him, but they were rather inconspicuous."Perfect, I guess we came at the right time. Seems like it's about to start" Rose was happy. She was really in the mood for some live music.
The flashy boy picked up a microphone, tapping against it to test it. An unpleasant noise came from the speakers. A few people covered their ears, others made a bit of a face. The boy grinned and then held the mic to his mouth.
"Helloooo and good evening, Hawkins! We're Corroded Coffee and we'll be playing for you tonight!" he said good-humoredly, attaching the microphone to the stand provided for it and hanging his guitar around his neck. The first sound came out of the speakers and the band started to play. Already a few seconds later Rose knew: this was good music! It was very rocky and also a little metal could be heard. The mood in the garden became super fast extremely good, all danced. Rose also moved to the music, Steve also tried to dance a little bit, but he seemed a bit stiff. He kept looking nervously at the stage and especially at the long-haired boy. But since the music was very loud, Rose didn't get to ask Steve what was going on during the whole concert.
Corroded Coffee certainly played for close to an hour before the music slowly faded out, the boy sweatily grabbed the mic and spoke his thanks. After that, the band members slowly began to pack up their instruments.
Rose turned to Steve, who was actually still squinting at the stage.
"Hey, Steve what's the matter? Are you a little rusty?" she asked him, following his gaze.
