After a week...
"Girl, why are you doll up so much? Where are you going?" Michelle gives Kim a curious look.
"Doll up?" Kim raises an eyebrow as she takes a break from applying the mascara, checking her outfit. "It's casual clothing."
Kim wears a pair of straight leg jeans with a white tank top.
"Where are you going anyway?"
"Well," Kim smiles and leaves the mascara on the dressing table. "I'm going to surprise Mick. He and his band have a concert tonight in town here. Normally, I was supposed to be in class today and study. But since the lessons were cancelled, I decided to surprise him."
"Will you go there? But girl, do you have a ticket?"
"One of his bandmates helped me getting not one but two tickets," Kim smiles slyly. "Michelle, you'd like to come too, wouldn't you?"
"Oh, my... Yes! Girl! I want to. Of course I would!" Michelle is delighted with Kim's plan. "When are we going?"
"In short time."
"Wonderful!"
In one hour, Kim and Michelle leave the apartment complex in a hurry. Getting into the car, Kim starts the car engine.
In about 45 minutes, they arrive at the concert. It would have been faster, but there was a lot of traffic on the road.
In the end, they make it and are already there, at the concert, where the young women present their tickets and are allowed to pass.
It seems that they were given tickets in the front of the stage. Kim smiles deeply. So there are many chances that Mick will see her instantly.
The concert just starts, Kim straight away sees Mick. And he sees her too, almost dropping his guitar. He did not expect to see the brunette this evening at all.
Kim smiles widely at him and he in turn smiles at her, his face softening.
Throughout the concert, Kim is focused only on Mick.
At the end, she pulls her friend by the hand and they reach the backstage, where they are allowed to pass.
Kim's eager smile dissipates at the sight of a shocking scene. She and Michelle sit motionless, seeing Mick sitting on a couch, with a woman on his lap.
It's not just any woman. It is one of the backing voices of the band. It's Amy.
She slides her hands down Mick's neck, with a devouring look. And what shocks Kim the most is the lack of reaction from Mick. This simply breaks her heart into thousands of pieces.
Michelle has the same astonished look as Kim. She looks at her, waiting for her next reaction.
An opportune moment when Mick and Emi see the two young women.
Mick's stunned look is imprinted in Kim's eyes and she will keep this image alive in her memory. Emi looks equally amazed and gets off his lap.
"Kim?" Mick calls her and gets up from the couch.
The brunette does not give him any single a chance to explain and leaves there, with Michelle following her.
"Kim! Wait!" Mick calls after her again and rushes towards her.
The brunette, together with her friend, is walking fast. They bump into several people and Kim almost stumbles when they get to the car.
Without looking back, Kim gets into the car with Michelle.
Mick has no chance to catch up with them, as he sees Kim's car driving away.
He's amazed that Kim didn't give him a chance to explain the situation to her. He did not think that she would react so spontaneously and without much thought. He didn't think so. She seemed mature for a young woman her age.
In the car, Kim gives all her interest to concentrate on the road. Her hands are so tense on the steering wheel. It's hard to process what she just saw.
Kim had an unpleasant feeling from the first time she saw that woman. She had to know that something was wrong with her.
"Kim... Don't you think you overreacted? Maybe you should have waited for an explanation first and..."
"And what, Michelle? Didn't you see it too?" Kim hisses. "The way they looked at each other... How could he? I don't understand... He saw me at the concert... How... It was like he didn't care I would catch them. What's going on between the two of them?"
"Kim," sighs Michelle. "I know you had a trauma in the past that left you with trust issues... but I think you are exaggerating. Give him a chance. Do not run."
Her friend's words fly past Kim's ears. Her mind is busy with her own thoughts. Thinking intensely about what she saw tonight. How she wishes it was just a dream. A nightmare. And to wake up immediately. But it's not. And she has to face it.
The car is parked in front of the apartment complex where Kim lives. Kim stops the car engine and takes a deep breath, feeling like her head will explode.
"Girl... you have to try to relax... Come inside."
Kim gets out of the car with Michelle and gets inside, taking the elevator, walking now in front of the apartment.
Kim rummages absent-mindedly for the keys in her purse.
Inside, she immediately throws her shoes off his feet.
Michelle looks at her worriedly.
"Maybe a coffee or some tea would do you good?" Michelle advises her.
"No," the brunette nods. "I just want to lie down," and she staggers into the living room, collapsing on the couch.
Michelle follows her, sitting on the couch next to Kim.
"Kim..."
"No... I don't want to hear anything else," the brunette presses her temples with her fingers.
"But Kim..."
"I said no! Please Michelle..."
"Okay. Then I think I should leave you alone," whispers Michelle and get up.
There is a knock on the door. They both look confused.
"Kim! It's me!" Mick's voice is heard.
"It's him!" Michelle says, looking long at Kim. Kim stares, not moving.
"Girl? Aren't you going to go and open to him? You have a lot to discuss."
"I..." Kim seems to be taking a long time to think and make a decision as the knocking on the door continues, as does Mick's worried voice.
