Chapter 14

I woke up to a body laying on my chest, opening my eyes Evelyn was knocked out breathing lightly. This was a nice way to wake up. She moved a in her sleep lifting her leg over mine. I sniffed as she accidentally rubbed my lower are, my morning wood was wide awake

Letting out a groan I moved her leg over and checked the clock. It was already 8:30am and I began to freak out

Jumping up Evelyn lifted her head "Where is the fire" she asked in a tired voice 

"Eve it's 8:30!" I stressed getting up from the bed and running to my closet to get dressed. I knew we shouldn't have watched a movie last night but Evelyn kept begging we stay up and enjoy each others company 

"Oh crap! Is nana here?" she said sitting up with her curls arranged crazily over her face

I had no idea but decided to go downstairs and check. Entering the kitchen Abigail was on the couch knitting a scarf

"I see your finally up" she snickered 

"How long have you been here?" I asked processing the day ahead

"Mmmm, since 8am. George and Amber should be pulling up. How was the... sleepover" she asked looking at my pants. All I had on were my boxers and I could tell she was hinting we did something.  Contrary to her belief we only watched a movie and Evelyn fell asleep half an hour in

"Great" I said going back upstairs to get some pants on 

I opened the door quickly and my eyes almost feel out... Evelyn was completely shirtless-

"Ahhhh! Luke you have to knock" she said covering her breast. I quickly turned around waiting for her to get... decent

"You can turn now" she said nervously walking around me

Evelyn decided to wear a tank top and black tennis skirt , I walked to my dresser and pulled out some shorts. We were going to the zoo after Savannah dropped Landon off. I asked Evelyn last night to accompany us and at first she was against it saying this should be a father son event but I wanted her there and Landon wouldn't mind

"Evie! Luke! We're here with the cake and gifts" I heard Amber scream downstairs 

Evelyn and I made our way downstairs ignoring the fact I just saw her breast. One thing we were both good at was acting like things never happened I didn't mind it because there was no way, I could talk about 

My feelings for Evelyn were complicated I liked her a lot and we had fun together. She didn't treat me like a wounded bird or based things off the rumors around town. She treats Landon like he's her own and I know he likes her too so there was a lot to gamble if we started anything. I don't have the best track record with women either... 

"Can't believe he's already six. It feels like he was just born" George faked cried putting his arm around my shoulder 

"Yea..." I agreed watching Evelyn show Amber where to place the gifts and cake 

"So are we going to talk about Evelyn and you" George whispered as we stood in the doorway watching the women fix the decorations 

"There is nothing to discuss" I stated not ready for this conversation 

"Luke you can't lie to your best friend. Amber showed me the pictures y'all took at the fair and you brought her to Landons parent teacher conference" he said listing what has happened lately 

I should have known Abigail would send those pictures to everyone. She kept texting me asking for photos and at the time it was the perfect moment George was overthinking that and the conference... I just needed support
