For the next week, nothing really interesting happens, until Thursday, which turns out to be an eventful day.
First off, today at lunch, I suddenly remember there were a few more topics I have to talk over with Griezmann before we present our project today in Health, so I tell my friends half way through lunch, "Oh, guys, I got to go do something quickly. I'll be right back."
"What is it, Sagey?" Tori asks casually.
"Oh, actually, you know that Health project? Got some last minute things to talk over with Antoine."
"You guys are on a first name basis now?" Rachel asks rudely, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, and I'm sure you're calling Foden Phil now that you're doing a project with him, am I right?" I counter.
She rolls her eyes again, making no comment. It's because I'm right.
"Anyway, I got to go. Be right back."
"Sure, Sage," Elizabeth nods. "Go ahead."
I leave, walking over to the table where the group of strong football guys sit. This is the table Antoine sits at usually.
Perfect. There's a spot between him and Foden. I slip in between them, and both look over. Foden looks back down when he realizes it's just me, but Griezmann continues looking.
"Yes?" he asks, raising one of his thick brown eyebrows.
I explain to him my ideas, and how I think we should present it.
He listens through the whole thing, keeping his blue eyes fixed on me.
"So, I have two sticky notes with which slides each of us will present, 'kay? I'll give one to you right before Health begins so that we'll be ready. You remember everything that needs to be said for all the slides, right?"
He nods, a playful smirk appearing on his face as he says with a chuckle in his voice, "I remember it better than you do."
"Do you?" I giggle.
"Yeah, and I can speak better than you. I'll be the star, and you will be the... uh, the not star."
"So much for being a wonderful speaker, huh?" I tease him back.
"Yeah," he grins, sitting up straighter. "It's because I am a wonderful speaker."
"Oh, I'm sure you are, Antoine. I'm sure you are. Well, I got to go back to my friends now."
"'Kay, see you in Health." He nods as I stand up and walk back to the girls.
Later, in Health class, I sit down in my desk in the back row, waiting for Antoine to come in and sit down. He comes in about a second before the bell rings. When I reach up and hand him the sticky note, I whisper, "Tardy king."
I watch as he flips me off under his desk, but I know that this time, it's not him being a jerk or rude, like it would have been, say, a week ago. It's just him teasing me. And I love it when he teases me.
We watch all the presentations. Foden and Rachel's is, in my humble opinion, horrible. I can tell by the slides that Rachel did basically all of it, but only Foden is engaging in the presenting. Which obviously to me means that Rachel did everything and then threw it on Foden and said, "Here I did everything; Now you present it." Because that honestly does seem like something she would do.
I'm so glad that Antoine and I were able to work so well together.
Our presentation just so happens to be the last one, which is nice- not. I always feel like going last means you have to do the best.
