I pull away from the kiss with Antoine. He kissed back, but this is the first time I have actually leaned in and kissed a boy. It feels weird. But good.
Theo mutters, "Jeez, I was just telling you something funny..." I try not to laugh at that comment from him. I guess he obviously does not understand.
I don't even look Theo's way, though, because I'm caught in his eyes, once again. They look swirling with so many emotions- love, sadness, hope, joy, happiness, melancholy... "I can't believe you said all that, Antoine... Was it really that hard for you?"
He leans away slightly, scratching his ear, muttering, "Maybe," with an embarrassed smile. Of course. He's a boy. Of course he isn't going to admit it.
I take his hand, entwining my fingers in his, and, ironically enough, we just keep eating like that, like nothing ever happened just now.
Suddenly, though, Antoine jokes, "You know, Sage, your mouth tasted like pizza."
Since I was not expecting him to just blurt that, I nearly spit out my water. I swallow it, trying not to laugh, cough a few times, and get out, "Yeah, yours did too!"
He rolls his eyes. "It was a pizza kiss."
"You guys are so weird," Theo very suddenly claims.
"Come on, Theo. I know it's weird to you now, but someday I'm sure you'll have a girlfriend just like Antoine does, and will act like that with her, very similarly as these two," his mother says.
"I don't wanna think about that. Antoine has never been super romantic. Antoine, what has gotten into you?"
Antoine grins with a shrug at his little brother. "I'm still Antoine. It's not like I'm a different person. But to answer your question, Sage has gotten into me."
"Oh, shut up," I roll my eyes. "Do you want to go to the living room now?" It feels strange to be acting like this, right in front of his parents and brother.
"Yes," he nods. "May we excuse ourselves?"
"Of course, dear," Mrs. Griezmann responds.
Antoine takes my plate with his and heads out of the room, while I find my way back to the living room. I sit down, and a few minutes later, Antoine meets me there.
"Just so you know," he says, sitting down next to me. "I didn't just randomly tell Theo all that stuff. First, he was talking about a girl he liked, and then he asked me about my experience with girls, so obviously, you came up."
I nod with a knowing smile. "I figured. You're not the kind of guy to offer information. Especially not information like that."
He nods back. "Wanna watch a movie then?"
"Sure."
Antoine stands, up, grabs the remote, finds a movie, and puts it on, grabbing the blanket again. He puts it over us once again, and we sit there quietly, watching the movie. Soon, I lean my head on his shoulder, and feel as he puts a gentle arm around my back.
After a little while, I mutter, "Antoine, are you sure you've only kissed me and Rachel?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"You're such a good kisser, you know..."
"Shut up," he says, nudging me, but I can hear in his voice that he's grinning stupidly. "You're just trying to... I don't know. You're trying to butter me up or something."
"Butter you up?" I laugh softly. "To do what?"
"Kiss you, likely."
I nod, then say softly, very, very softly, "Well, why don't you? I've liked you for so long, and now that we're dating, I think you have to make up for not kissing me all this time, right?"
"Oh brother," he mutters, pulling me in for another kiss. It's a long, wonderful kiss, and when he pulls away, we're both slightly panting.
Before I can even really catch my breath, he goes in for another one. And another, and another. Finally, after a while, he says with a grin, "Is that enough, princess?"
I stare at him, leaning away. "Princess?"
"Yeah, princess. You don't like that?"
"No," I smile. "It's alright. You're... oh, never mind."
He shrugs, not seeming to care to ask what I was going to say. In a bit, he takes my hand, rubbing it gently.
I mutter teasingly, "You're brother said you aren't romantic. I think he was wrong about that, completely. I think you're just a big sap."
"A big sap?" he grins. "It's just because I lo- like you, a lot."
I nod. "Does it annoy you that I'm less romantic?"
"What are you talking about?" he chuckles. You just practically begged me to kiss you. I was just casually sitting here, watching this mov-"
"Watching a movie in which the two are holding each other, kissing? While you put your arm around me, and lean in close to me? And now you start rubbing my hand? And you called me princess! You're the sap! You just inspired me to want kisses from you!"
"Yeah, whatever," he grins, rolling his eyes. After a few moments of silence he says, quieter, "Do you want me to back off a bit?"
I smile. "Oh, no, Antoine. You're so worried about making me happy, and doing the right things! I will tell you if I'm uncomfortable, okay? But for a little over a year now, I've dreamed so much of being right here with you. So I'm happy! So, so happy, Antoine! Don't worry! Stop worrying, okay?"
He holds me even tighter, and says, "Sure, of course, lovely."
I grin. "Do, though, stop with the sappy pet names, at least for now."
We both laugh, and just being this close to him, talking like this, having him hold me like this, it's heaven.

I don't know if all my readers noticed this, but I started another Griezmann fanfiction, along with this one, called 'rays of sunlight // Antoine Griezmann'. It's a completely different story/universe from this one, but if you're enjoying this one, I encourage you to go to my profile and check it out! Thanks to everyone who has been reading this, so much!
I've got some other ideas for fanfictions, too. My brain is full of ideas. So if you see a lot of chapter 1s being published on my profile coming up soon, that's probably why.
