The Battle

The night before had arrived and I was holding in my anticipation at seeing my love again. We were all sitting outside as the snow fell in our hair, melting onto our ice cold skin. The wolf had gone to collect some more fire wood as I waited to set it alive, my fingers like matches extended with little flames dancing on the tips. Once the fire was ignited everyone sat around, exchanging war stories and tales of Volturi disagreements.

Dawn approached faster then I had anticipated, and before I knew it I was standing face to face with Caius. The need to feel his touch and be beside him again burned inside of me as my heart ached, Edward sending a somewhat sympathetic look my way even if he didn't care for the Volturi at the moment, which was understandable, he still showed some care for my feelings and for that I will forever be grateful.

Irina stood with the Volturi, noticing that Renesmee had indeed grown she looked to her sisters in pity before two guards that I didn't quite recognise got to work disposing of her, Caius burning her body making me look at him in disbelief as I ran towards Tanya, grabbing her arm so they could be blinded as Edward spoke to them, "Tanya, this is what they want, if you attack now we will all die." I nodded beside her, "he's right, we just have to wait it out, talk to them. Cause will be reasonable I can ask him to see our side, to hear us out." She nodded slightly, allowing her sight to come back as well as her sisters as we all relaxed a little bit.

I looked around at all of my family and friends, Renesmee up on top of Jacobs wolf form with Meg and Bella standing beside them made me scrunch my face in disgust, I would never like wolves even if my family now ran with them. Bella protected us all from Jane as she tried to use her powers on us, I would forgive her when I saw her again, if I saw her again that is, before discussions began, discussions that were put to rest when Alice and my brother showed up, I smiled towards him before following the pair toward the Volturi, Alice nodding to me as I. joined her side.

"My dear dear Alice and Blake, how long it has been, we are so glad to see you here after all." Are grinned a sickly grin towards us, I bowed my head slightly not knowing where to look as Caius raised his brow at me in question. "I have evidence that the child won't be a threat to our kind, let me show you." as Alice held her hand out Caius began to speak, being cut off by a sharp look from myself and Aro. Jasper and I were taken to the side, so that we couldn't interfere with the interaction, I stood beside Jane in silence, not wanting to talk to my best friend since she had just tried to kill my brother. everything happened so fast, one second Alice and Aro were talking, the next Aro was flying through the air and Alice was getting held by more Guards, I quickly ran back to Emmet before they could touch me, leaving a trail of melted snow behind me. "Take her away." The order came as soon as he had landed, with a sinister look covering his face I could tell are was ready to fight.

"Let her go!" The shout came from my right as Carlisle started running, dodging all of the guards that came his way. Aro jumped up and met him halfway, and when they both landed horrifying screams could be heard from Esme as I stared in shock. Carlisle was dead, beheaded and Aro laughed cruel as he held his head in his hadn't before dropping it next to his flaming body.

We all charged forward meeting the Volturi half way, I stayed next to Emmet, he knew that I wouldn't be able to hurt Caius so he had agreed before the battle that if needed he would do what needed to be done. Everything was chaos as we all fought, I sent a ball of flames straight into the back of Andrea, a quieter member of the guard who often escorted me back to my chambers after hours. I stopped moving however when I heard the painful groans of my brother, freezing in fear and shock as I saw him fall to his knees in pain before his head hit the ground, his body falling shortly after.

The rest of a battle was a blur as I sat in the middle of the field, No Volturi member came near me. Perks of being an almost queen I suppose... I only moved when the earth shattered under me, I bolted away and ended up face to face with Caius. He looked at me in a way that I had never seen before, a sinister look clouded his eyes before his arms shot out and hands wrapped around my neck, strangling me as cracks filled my porcelain face, I wanted to fight back but I couldn't bring myself to do it, every flicker of a flame that was inside of me had been smothered as the life left my eyes and I faded away in the arms of someone who I thought loved me...

I guess love isn't everything when power is on the line.
