The pull

Bella had her bags packed and ready as Alice and I got the car ready. the dog was right on her tail as she walked to the car trying to get her to stay coming up with lame excuses such as "for Charlie" and finally he said the real reason behind his begging "or for me", the retched stench drifting from the window he was sticking his head through became to much so I stuck my head through the middle of the front seats "sorry to interrupt you two but can you please get your head out of the car because if you couldn't already tell I really don't like dogs and I will set your tail alight." Although Alice was smirking she still pushed my head back causing me to lie across the back seats and scorch little designs into the ceiling with my pinkie finger adding to the constellation of stars, I had to leave my bike here but I knew it would be safe or at least I hoped so as if one of the dogs lay a paw on my baby I would have a new fur coat. 

Bella's voice brought me out of my internal fashion design as she told the mutt she had to go and he finally retracted his head from the window. "I'm begging you......please" a brief moment of silence as I was sure a young pups heart was ready to shatter "goodbye Jacob" padding away deflated, myself and Alice both turn to Bella as she sighs and puts her seat belt on, something only puny humans need (no offence to the humans witnessing this take place right now, hello humans), not knowing entirely what to say I kick Alice's seat and she turns away from Bella while muttering a small "okay" and starting to drive away from the swan residence. 

During the whole plane ride I try to act as if I'm asleep so no one bothers me, its safer that way, helps keep the thirst at bay if only by a little. the sun keeps trying to creep past the shutter and expose my diamond encrusted skin so I end up wrapping myself in my hoodie and borrowing one of Ally bear's many scarves and using it as a trust head scarf. After getting off the plane I am tasked with keeping Bella distracted as Alice hotwires a car, when she pulls up in front of us in a yellow Porshe I almost squeal in excitement but keep it at bay as to not alert the surrounding people of the ongoing grand theft auto. 

I somehow ended up in the back seats again but sadly I was not allowed to scorch my stars into the roof of this car as it would let people know who stole it, BORING! As we raced across country roads, a blur of greenery whizzing by Edward gets closer and closer to the volturi, unknown to us of course.  Bella finally asks the question that tells Alice I wasn't doing my job but I just shrug at her and listen to the conversation at hand, "I'm guessing you didn't rent this car?" "I figured you wouldn't be opposed to grand theft auto" "no...not today", I begin to feel a weird feeling go through my whole body causing me to zone out of the events happening around me completely as I notice the closer and closer we get to Volterra, the more I feel this strange pull towards the city and the more Alice tries to sneakily glance back at me as if she knows what happening to me. 

The beautiful city nears and as we go past the streets lined with yellow clay houses I start to feel myself wishing to stay, as if I was destined to be here in Volterra instead of in Folks. Hoards of humans dressed in red cloaks fill the narrow cobbled paths causing Alice to beep the horn as if it was a buzzer in a game show that she knew all of the answers too.  The people part like the red sea as we move forward and Bella becomes more and more curious, anxious and concerned, you see I can tell as she is now sitting in a different position then 5 minutes ago and she is no longer wearing her seatbelt. "why are they all in red" she asks as her hands go up to her hair, another habit of hers that has increased in the last hour, " saint Marcos day festival, their commemorating the expulsion of vampires from the city, its the perfect setting the volturi will never let him get far enough to expose himself." Alice told her trying to calm her only to have her breathing increase rapidly as she grabbed her hair once again and looked at the clock "we have 5 minutes" "I know, Bella just breath"

as the streets cleared a bit, I spotted a police car up ahead that caused us to stop and Bella to get out of the car and run as she was the only one my dear old Eddie boy would not see coming, as Bella disappeared into the sea of red cloaks, myself and Alice got out of the car and went into the shadows hiding from the sun and slowly making our way to the castle, the strange tugging of my heart only increasing as we went.
