Edward Get's Roasted

I stood with Irana as we watched the wolves leave with Charlie. The Denali's had gone to see Bella and Edward, congratulating them just a few steps in front of us but we were frozen staring at the furballs in horror and in hatred. "Irina" Carmen called as Edward shouted for me causing me to shake my head and walk over to Jasper and Ally Bear, further away from the wolves.

"Is it time for the speeches yet? Please say it is." I asked giving Alice the best puppy eyes I could muster as Jasper threw a mischievous smirk my way "Why, do you want to embarrass Edward as much as Emmett does?" As he said this I looked over to Emmet and Rosalie, only to see Emmet practically shaking in excitement as he stared at the microphone on the small stage. Alice smiled slightly before nodding her head and walking into the dining room... let the embarrassment begin!!

Emmet stepped up to the microphone first, in one hand he held a champaign flute and the other was tapping the microphone testing to see if it worked. "is this thing on, hello?" he asked into the mic causing me to whistle at him and for him to nod and begin his speech... "um, I'd like to propose a toast. To my new sister. Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years cause you won't be getting anymore for a while..." And with that my head hit the table in second hand embarrassment, silence filling the room until I stepped up to the stage and forcefully pushed the bear away from the microphone, causing some laughter to erupt. Now it was time, time for Edward's secrets to be revealed... time to mess his life up with his now father-in-law.

"First of all I would like to say a huge congratulations for the happy couple, you deserve everything the world will bring. And now it's story time so fill up your glasses and get ready because Edward, I'm sorry but as your best friend I must ruin your life on your wedding day.... It's the rules! So as you all know, Edward here is very deeply in love with the now Bella Cullen and this love has caused him to become a little bit crazy sometimes. But the craziest thing he has ever done because of this love happened before they even became a couple and then continued afterwards. You see, Eddy boy over here has a need to constantly watch over Bella to ensure she is safe and due to this he would sneak out of our house and venture to the Swan residence with nobody knowing, well I knew Edward, My room is next to yours I saw you jump out of the window, anyway when at the swan residence he would sneak into Bella's room and just stand there watching her sleep and let me just tell you Eddie that shit is creepy, YA STALKER! Charlie, hope you enjoyed that one." I winked to the crowd, raising my glass as I walked off of the stage and passed Edward patting his shoulder as he glared at me.

Jessica was up next to give a speech, which I didn't fully understand but she was Bella's friend so I just had to deal with the gossip bitch for the 5 minute speech,  "Well, Bella was just like everybody else, totally mesmerized by Edward or 'the hair' as I call him" I felt like the non existent life was being drained out of me as I downed another glass of champagne wanting nothing but to feel at least a little bit drunk again. "and then, suddenly Edward is all about Bella. Even though she's not the captain of the volleyball team. I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding... or the head of the student council." she finished as I accidently shout "you're jealousy is showing!"

Charlie was up next and as he stepped up to the microphone I reached for my champagne glass to find that it was no longer there. Turning to look at my brother I saw him holding it away from my with a smirk so I rolled my eyes in his direction before turning to face Charlie. "Edward will be a good husband. I know this because, because I'm a cop, I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the Earth." Laughter erupted around the hall as he continued "and I know how to use a gun." he finished allowing Alice to take the stage.

"Now that you're my sister, you'll have to get over your version of fashion. Skirts, heels, handbags..." Alice listed as many fashion items as she could before wishing the two good luck and letting Renee take the microphone. As everybody sat awaiting an emotional mother of the bride speech they were instead greeted with a song, one that Renee used to sing Bella as a child, "Go to sleep, my love. Go to sleep, when you wake. You'll see me." Traditionally, after the bride's mother came the groom's so Esme stood on the stage ready to give a short speech before Edward. "I'd like to thank Renee and Charlie for bringing such a wonderful person into the world and into our lives. We will cherish and protect her forever."

Edward finally stood in front of the microphone, a glass of alcohol in hand and his other hand tucked into his pocket, aw he's nervous, "It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bury your soul too and that will accept you for who you are. I've been waiting what seems like a very long time to get beyond what I am and with Bella, I feel like I can finally begin. So I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful bride. No measure of time with you will be long enough, but let's start with forever." And with that glasses were raised as we toasted the marriage.

Music filled the room around me as everyone joined on the dancefloor. Bella's friends were dancing like literal chickens near the entrance way to the floor and walking past them, narrowly missing a collision with Mike as he bounced backwards, I held in my laughter until I reached Emmett where we both just looked at each other before collapsing into the others side for support as laughs erupted from us. Once we had finally calmed down I turned to face him and smiled at Rose who held a full bottle of champagne in her hand. "Care for a dance, Em Bear?" I asked my eyebrow raising as we both smirk, moving toward the dance floor and as we witnessed everybody part and move out of the way we nearly started laughing again before we simply started dancing... well I say we were dancing we were more rolling and rocking and air guitaring... to a slow song but it was fun so whatever! 

The song finished and another slow song started up so I kindly passed Emmet onto Rosalie, winking towards her as I whispered "be careful, he's a mover" causing us both to smirk at each other before I moved to stare out toward the forest, leaning against the balcony railing. A fair bit of time must of passed as I was only brought out of my stare when Edward placed a hand on my shoulder, "You'll see him again, aren't you leaving tomorrow to go back anyway?" He asked as I turned to him, trying to ignore his question, "Where's the bride?". shaking his head slightly he looked down at the forest lining, where both Bella and Jacob stood dancing, "I know I'll see him soon... I just miss him you know?" A smile filled his face before it was clouded with alarm, "I know, now I must go and save my bride." and with that he was gone and I joined the party once more to wish the couple luck on their honeymoon travels.  

As the car travelled into the distance, disappearing from view everybody around me left, going toward their own homes apart from my family who had retreated indoors to relax after a long night. I stood rooted to my spot as something burned inside of me, as if telling me everything was about to change, everything we built was about to burn...

and with that feeling still festering in my heart, I moved to go upstairs and pack, leaving a small scorch mark on the road outside.
