I lead Gretchen back to the boardinghouse. I was shocked when I looked at my watch and saw it was midnight. Gretchen mentioned it could be from reading at least 50 letters, some weren't that short either.
I went home and tried to stay quite as not to wake anyone up.
The next day I spent some time trying to find the doctor that was mentioned in the letter. I also had to work on some other reports.
