"Chaos Overpowers Night and Darkness"

"With a mansion as big as this, I find it surprising that I see no single portraits around." Mr. Allaire turns his head all over the place hoping he gains sight of what he is looking for.

"Lady Eris removed them all. It is currently in the storage area." From his comment, it seems that this is his first time going inside this place. I thought he only wanted to return but the desperation to step foot into this place is actually due to the fact that he had never been here. "You are the CEO, right? Mr. Deveraux never asked you to come here?"

"No one has ever stepped foot into this place aside from the Deveraux family and the workers. They strictly forbid it. Just as how they strictly forbid Ms. Deveraux to go out." I always learn new things about this peculiar family whenever I am with him. "They always acted like they were hiding something in this house. Sa laki rin neto, do you think that is possible?"

Hindi ako nakasagot dahil hindi ko rin alam ang sagot para roon. If by any chance there are hiding something in here, hindi rin naman na nakakagulat. They just hide a lot of secrets. Never met all of them but knowing Eris is already enough. It's already in their blood.

"By the way, do you have something to wear to the party?" He asked before he could go inside his car. His driver is just patiently waiting for him on his side.

"Am I invited?" Hindi ko pinoproblema dahil tingin ko ay hindi naman ako kasama. That's a big and formal party. I do not belong there. Akala ko ay kailangan ko lang papuntahin si Eris.

"You are the owner's bodyguard, Mr. Speranza. Maraming tao so she would be needing you the most." He winked at me. Dahil sa kindat na iyon, it feels like he is up into something.

Pinanood ko lang ang paglayo ng kaniyang kotse. Nang hindi na maabutan ng aking tanaw ay doon ko lang naisipang pumasok sa loob.

The party...hindi ko naman inisip na iiwanan ko si Eris. I was just thinking I would not actually be at the party. Siguro ay nasa gilid lang. Hindi naman na siguro kailangan magisip ng susuotin kung sa gilid lang naman ako buong party.

"Ayaw mo? I can ask Mr. Allaire to be my escort."

My brows furrowed. "Escort?"

"Every party needs that one—well, from what I heard." Hinarap niya ako nang maayos. "Ikaw ang una kong naisip dahil bodyguard naman kita. But if you do not feel like attending the party, hindi kita pipilitin. I promised I would never ask you to do something that is beyond your capabilities."

"No, I do not mind it at all..."

"You sure?"

I nod but still feel quite hesitant. "Yes. Yes, I am..." Kesa naman hayaan ko siyang makasama si Mr. Allaire buong gabi? I am not sure what he is capable of but he would surely do something to Eris if he ever gets the chance to be that close to her. Who knows? He might get information that can be used against her. Knowing Eris, wala siyang problema sa pagcensor ng kaniyang mga salita at kilos. Her unbothered and fearless attitude can really put her in danger.

"Alright." Tumango tango rin siya, observing my expression but did not say anything. "I'll talk to Mr. Allaire about your dress. You do not need to worry."

I gave her a firm smile at saka lumisan na ng kwarto. It's time for me to do my duties in this household—as the so-called butler.

Sherry and I had a talk before she could sleep. Hindi mawala sa kaniyang isipan ang pangakong beach ni Eris. Ang tagal na rin namin hindi nakapagbakasyon dahil hindi rin naman kami entitled to spend more money. Especially that we were both studying and also the fact that I am a medical student.
