Nasa kaniya naman ang isang bote and Eris gave it to him herself. It's like a gift for him. Kinda strange dahil pinagbantaan niya ito kanina lang.
Still makes me wonder how she learned about what this doctor did. Wala naman ng ibang nakakaalam maliban sa aming tatlo nila Mr. Antonio. Obviously, it is not me and this man. Was it Mr. Antonio? Nagusap sila? Or...may ibang nakakaalam ng plano nila? So more people know that his arrest is a planned one.
"You already took the exam, right? Any dates kung kailan marerelease ang results?"
"I am waiting until next week."
"That is good. You will be able to find a school earlier. Any possible schools you want to attend?"
"I am planning to attend Cavallo School of Medicine."
Cavallo School of Medicine is the most well-known medical school in this country. Cavallos are actually known for their different variations of their business as isa roon ay mga hospital. Kaya maganda talaga roon magaral dahil secured na kaagad ang iyong future. But of course, as long as your credits are enough for the requirements.
How did I know...I just happened to know dahil napagusapan na namin iyan ni Terrel. Siya talaga ang nagsabi noon sa akin. Malamang ay may mga impormasyon akong hindi na naaalala tungkol sa pamilyang iyon. I cannot imagine how rich the Cavallo family is with all those successful businesses they own. Ang sarap siguro ng buhay ng kanilang mga anak.
"Nice choice. You are not going with your friends?"
"They're...studying there."
"Really? Surely they are well-off."
Yes. Terrel will be actually studying there. Well, hopefully. But I remember us talking about the medical school we are planning to attend after we finish graduation. And that university is our top 1. Kung siya rin naman ang nagsabi noon malamang ay iyon din ang kaniyang pipiliin.
We fell silent and I found the silence awkward. Tulala lang ngayon si Dr. Le Claire habang nainom sa kaniyang alak.
"You good?" I sipped on my juice. Medyo hindi pa ako komportableng tanungin iyon dahil hindi naman kami malapit sa isa't isa. But it would be cruel not to check on him pagkatapos kong madinig ang usapan nila ni Eris. Besides, I still remember him asking me how I was doing during the times that I still couldn't express what I actually felt about the death of my mother.
"Yea. Just a little bit disappointed. " Kumunot ang aking noo. "I tried so hard to gain her trust and I broke it in just a snap."
"You only wanted to protect her. Mr. Antonio only wants to protect her."
