A/N: HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYONE! Please note this is a trigger warning chapter (with suicide attempt and death). If it is something you wont be able to  digest, please skip.

I'm sorry. I know Happy new years is to start with happiness, but this is quite the opposite.

"We are going to the lake," his brother tells him when he gets down. He had a good sleep, or nap should he say (judging by lights outside), and he wanted to not say that it was because of the wonderful scent that came from the sheets. The soft white chocolate and raspberries one that belonged to the omega who was busy laughing with Jimin and Taehyung on the sofa. It was good to see Seokjin smiling, knowing how odd or isolated he might feel with the lot of them. Although not too obvious, it was just slightly obvious to him the way the rest of his friends were busy with themselves, even his brother Yoongi. He's not sure if Yoongi had realized.

Well, he could understand that his brother was trying to make up for the lost time by engaging with the stories and moments he had missed. Still, it's not like he didn't notice Seokjin's confused and forlorn looks once in a while when ignored, or forgotten, by Yoongi. And it made him feel kind of angry at his brother. He needed to tell the older alpha.

"Get whatever you need," Yoongi continues. "Hoseok already took the snacks and is by the lake."

"Did you come from the walk just now?" he asks, confused.

His brother shakes his head. "No, just half an hour ago. Hoseok came and took the food in case we get hungry. I came to grab my trunks 'cause we will be swimming and to let everyone know," Yoongi tells him with a smile.

He nods. "Maybe you guys go ahead. I'll stay back. I'm getting a headache."

"Come on. Don't be like that. Seokjin and I will be leaving the week after next anyway. Least you can do is have fun and spend time with your brother. We'll have a race like the old time."

With a sigh, he lets Yoongi hug him and ruffle his already messy hair. "Okay, sure, why not. You still promised to talk with eomma appa, though. About that-"

"Yes, don't worry. When we get home on Monday, we'll do that." They had initially planned to do the party for their parents' anniversary on Sunday but realized it would be too difficult to get everything done, so decided to move it for the next Friday, just two days before Seokjin and Yoongi leave.

That meant more break from work for him, and a bit more relaxation before life gets busy again.

Yoongi pats him on the back before walking toward the others seated on the sofa. He sees his brother lean in to give a kiss on Seokjin's temple and instruct them all to get ready.

Rubbing his face, he sighs, recalling the talk he had with Seokjin just before his nap– recalling the way the omega's scent grew agitated, surprised, and fearful. It annoyed him that Seokjin refused to talk about it to his brother. Or, that his brother hadn't noticed the omega's concerns with work. Still, it was obviously not his place. It unsettled him but he is now trying to ignore it. Ignore the omega once again. Maybe a swim at the lake will do him good considering how hot and uncomfortable he was feeling.

As he walks toward the kitchen, Jimin stops him, telling him that Seokjin had made some really good hangover soup and to eat it. His eyes go past the shorter man to find the model glancing at them and looking away the moment their eyes meet. He slightly nods. "I will. I will see you guys at the lake then," he tells the other officer.

Chugging a glass of cold water, he lets out a huff and grabs a bowl, pouring himself some soup. And fuck, did it taste good. He grabs seconds and thirds (because his bowl was really small, or so he tells himself). He was pretty hungry since last night. Once he's done, he sighs, feeling a bit better before heading out for a shower. It was silly considering he was going to have to take another once again after coming from the lake, but he figured one shower right now would alleviate his headache.
