Seokjin

He was awake, lying down, staring at absolutely nothing but the ceiling. He was waiting, shaking and waiting to be comforted. His thoughts continued to run back to the lake, his panic and everyone's confused and scared faces. Oh, god, he wanted to die from embarrassment and shame.

"Hey." Seokjin turns to the voice. He finds Yoongi walking into the room. He smelled different, weird. He smelled so tired and something else. Swallowing hard, he sniffs again, nose scrunching at the familiar scent of dullness. The only time Yoongi gave off that scent was the first time the alpha got drunk and cried to him, and it was about missing home, missing his friends, about regretting the mistakes he made.

The Alpha avoids his gaze, looking elsewhere as he walks in.

Seokjin simply follows his gaze, opening his mouth to question the very thing on his mind. "Why are you acting like this? Why have you been acting so differently after coming to Busan?"

Yoongi looks at him, frowning. "I haven't-"

"Yes, you have. You have done nothing but ignore me after seeing your family. I know if's been several years since you got to see them, but you keep on forgetting about me," Seokjin tries to control his tears, controlling his throat from clogging up. "And! And you knew I hated going into the water."

"I'm sorry. I am. I am so fucking sorry. I never meant to hurt you and do that. I swear...I forgot. I saw you sitting alone, and I wanted you to join us. And it completely went above my head that you didn't like swimming," Yoongi explains.

"That's even horrible. I am supposed to be your omega," he refutes in anger as the other man paces in front of him around the room, face contoured with something which he assumes is guilt. "You are supposed to–"

"I know, Seokjin. I'm sorry. I am so so sorry. Please forgive me, I -" Yoongi stops, gazing at him before closing his mouth and swallowing hard. "I am sorry. I am really sorry. I just wanted to spend more time with my family and friends before we leave. After coming here, I realized what I missed." Yoongi looked away.

"I never said that you couldn't. All I wanted was for you to acknowledge me. To pay attention to me as well."

"That's why I took you to the lake. I wanted you to join, Seokjin. Although, in hindsight it was terrible because I didn't regard how you didn't like swimming. When you said "no", I just thought you were being shy. I'm sorry. I really am, Seokjin. I never wanted you to feel scared or nearly drown. I'm sorry that I made you feel like that. For taking you to the lake. I swear it didn't come to my mind." There was a lot more that the alpha wanted to say, he knew, but for some reason Yoongi didn't. Instead the alpha then says that he needed to take a shower.

He was lying down on the bed hoping to sleep early, eyes closed, when Yoongi gets out. Holding his breath, he stays still as the alpha gets on the bed, expecting Yoongi to at least hold him. But the man doesn't. The space between them seemed empty and the atmosphere felt heavy. With a heavy heart, he keeps his eyes closed in effort to fall asleep, biting his lips hard so he doesn't weep.

...

Yoongi was distant, he realized. He woke up alone on the bed and when he did get out to the living room, the alpha was watching TV alone with Taehyung.

Jimin found him and smiled at him from the table, patting an empty space, beside Hoseok and Jungkook. The omega asked him to eat. He wanted to decline but his hunger got the best of him so he nodded. Giving a glance at Yoongi who makes no acknowledgement of his presence, he walks and timidly takes a seat.

Jungkook is avoiding him as well, he realized. Because as he takes a seat in the empty chair, the young police man gets up, muttering about needing to use the bathroom. Seokjin says nothing, but he notes the scent of agitation and anger in the alpha. Was the man angry at him? Because he had to save him? Did the alpha not like him because of his weird, terrifying outburst in the water?
