Seokjin
"I already said I don't need this. I'm fine and I will be fine." His manager had brought him to an isolated room in the building. A meeting, the man had said, about the recent incident, which he didn't think was all too serious. His manager believed he was famous and popular, but it seems unlikely. Sure, he got a few luxury details here and there, it wasn't much. He has a long way to go.
He had just completed his photoshoot for Vogue, so he still had his light makeup, wearing a crop long sleeved shirt and tight jeans. Yawning, he followed, feeling quite sleepy.
"Do you want me to get you something to eat?" Hyesung asks.
He smiles, shaking his head and wrapping his arms around one of Hyesung's. He doesn't know how he got lucky with this manager, who took him under his care when he needed the most. "I wanna go home," he whines to the other omega.
"Jinnie-ah, you know we have to get to the bottom of this. We can't have you hurt."
"I am not going to get hurt. I am not like famous or anything."
"Yes, you are, and I don't want you hurt..." Hyesung responds.
"Well, thank you for supporting me. I don't know what I would do without you." When his previous manager abandoned him for not agreeing to work with an alpha he was uncomfortable with, he ended up struggling to manage his events and appointments himself. It was hard.
He succeeded two weeks before everything came crashing down. With Yoongi's family's behavior, to the cheating and breakup, to then his entire sad, sad life, Seokjin just broke in one of the fashion events, unable to breath.
Thankfully, he managed to separate himself before he cried in front of an audience. His pathetic self (that too in a clean bathroom of the showcase) was discovered by Hyesung, a new and upcoming fashion stylist, who decided to take him under his wing. He was the omega's first client (god knows why Hyesung even decided to manage him) and ever since, they have been working together.
"Come on, let's go. The guy who is willing to help is waiting for us. He's really good!"
"How did you convince them?" He asks, because honestly, it felt ridiculous. There was no harm done to him, so it doesn't make sense why he needed a police investigation or whatever his manager is requesting for.
"I asked my father's friend who is apparently the Chief of the department. He told me he will pass it along to his colleagues. They work as detectives and stuff," the manager says with a shrug.
"Huh," he responds with a hum, slowing his steps. It reminded him of the alpha who supposedly was to come for a position at Seoul as a detective. Shaking his head, he got rid of the concern that he would have to face that alpha again.
Nope, that is too unrealistic. There is no way. Last he saw the man was in the train station. And although he wanted to cry badly and ask why he had to deserve all this, he let that go. At least, the alpha had brought him his belongings which he would have never gotten back with that previous manager's "help".
It gave him heartache thinking about what he had to deal with those days. He was doing well since those unimaginable memories, but now, of course he would have another thing attacking his mind–stalker. Seokjin only prays that they will get over stalking him (he was very boring and he had nothing interesting for the stalker to come after him) and leave him be once again.
Rolling his eyes, he follows, walking step by step.
"Why aren't we meeting at their office or station?"
"He thinks it's better if he came since we don't want the stalker to catch wind of it."
Seokjin groans. "I am telling you, it's probably not even serious."
"Jinnie-ah, again, we don't want any risks. These get bad and they might even go to the point where you... like..."
"Where I die." He deadpans. As a matter of fact, he wouldn't mind. He was thinking about it in the past until Hyesung found him during his panic attack. It's not like he had a mate to worry about. His mate was dead. That's what his doctor guessed when he showed up his senior year during his college years, with chest pain and heat, intolerable. Initially, he guessed it was due to his mixture of medicines for depression and anxiety and for omega heats, but she says his reaction was as normal as a widow. He couldn't really remember what he had done exactly but he does recall not being able to breathe, with no sense of appetite or feel for the world.
Clearly, that only meant one thing–his mate had died.
Doctor Sun had felt pity for him then and still does now, giving him sad gazes whenever he would show up for his monthly heat check-ups since he was mateless and he wasn't keen on mating with stranger alphas.
Sometimes he pondered about the little red heart on thigh, with a date–the day he left Seoul and came to Busan. It was meaningless since it was supposed to be the day he met his mate. But what if he had. What if he had met someone in the airport, in the airplane.
Part of him felt hopeful that maybe, just maybe he had the chance with Yoongi. That Yoongi was going to be his that day, despite not being his true, fated half of a pair. That the alpha would ask to be his lifelong partner that day. But then...nothing happened.
It's laughable because Yoongi was clearly not his.
"Yeah, that. This can get-"
" I wouldn't mind dying to be honest," he reveals with a sigh, ignoring the surprised gasp from the manager.
With a dry laugh, he walks into the room, letting Hyesung gape at him.
A familiar scent infiltrates him, one that is all too pleasant but brings him memories to the unpleasant events in Busan. And that...causes him to still in his place.
A/N!!
So, to address why Seokjin can't tell that he has a mate, or the fact Jungkook was his mate was because his Doc told him his mate died. Given Seokjin's past, he dealt with depression and anxiety, which he took medications for. And those mixed with his heat suppressants and blockers clearly messed up with his system.
When he had an ill effect with one of his heat, the same time Jungkook was going through something (he was dealing with his father's decision in forcing him to follow his footsteps since Yoongi decided to venture to a different field). So when his Doc noted it, she related the behavior to be that of someone whose mate dies (widow).
Now, Seokjin can smell Jungkook's scent but he thinks nothing of it because they can smell everyone's scents unless one is wearing scent blockers. And, to his knowledge, Jungkook doesn't wear scent blockers. How will we find out, let's see!
If any more questions, ask away!!
Hope you enjoyed :)
